The District is a trust established under its rules, which are common to all Districts. Trustees are
appointed in accordance with Policy, Organisation & Rules of The Scout Association.
The accounts have been drawn up on the receipts and payments basis, which is con515tent with the

Trustees Annual Report for the year up to March 2021
MAJOR AcfiviTIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE YEAR
Since April 2020 nationally there has been 3 periods of lockdowns because of the Covid
19 pandemic.
Restrictions will ease from 12 April 2021 and a pathway has been identified by the
British Government to ease in stages until summer 2021
We recognised and thank those who managed to carry on with scouting activities using
virtual meetings, social media and other communicating tools. Many found ways to
celebrate Founder5 Day and St Georges Day
For many reasons not all have been able to deliver scouting but we hope have retained
their faith that normal service will be resuming as soon a5 possible.
We know through 2021 Census information that many of our young people have achieved
Chief Scout Awards and the Scout Association has nearly caught up with the backlog of
adult merit and service awards
Our congratulations go to all.
Census numbers on 31 January 2021 were down by nearly 30% but already there is signs
of young people returning.
The Trustees, thank everyone, young and not so young for surviving a very strange 12
months and look forward to everyone being able to join in for fun and achievement

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of the
DERBY EAST DISTRICT SCOUT COUNCIL
I report on the accounts of the GrouplDislricl for the year ended 31 March 2021 which comprise the
Statement of Financial Activittes, the Balance Sheet and related notes.
This report is made solely to the truste8s in accordan￿ with Sections 43 and 44 of the Charities Act 1993.
My work has been undertaken so Ihat I migm state lo the charity's trustees those matters l am required lo
stste to them In an Independent Examiner's report 2nd for no other purpose. To the fullest extent pemiitted
by law. I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the chartty and Ihe charity's trustees for
my examination work.
Respactlve responsibllltles of Trustees and Examiner
The Group'slDistrict's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an
audit is not required for this year (under Section 43121 of Ihe Charlties Act 1993 (the 1993 Actll and that an
independent examination is needed.

Examine the accounts (under Section 43 (31 lal of the 1993 Act).,
To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charty Commissioners {und8r
Seelion 43 {71 Ib) of the 1993 Act)., and
To slate whether particular matters have come to my attenlion.
Basis of Independent Examlneffs report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounling records kept by the GrouplDistrict and
comparison of the accounts presenled with those records. It also indudes consideration of any unusual items
or disdosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
The prO￿dureS undertaken do not provide all the eviden￿ that would be required in an audit, and
consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the a¢¢ounls.
Independent Examlner's statement
In connection with my examination. no matter has come to my attention=
l. which gives me reasonable Cause to believe that In any material respect the requirements
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 41 of the 1993 Act -and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting
requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met- or
2. to which, in my opinion. attention should be drawn in order lo enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
