BENTLEY BEGINNINGS FAMILY CENTRE
(Charity No 1081484
REPORT BY THE CHAIR FOR THE YEAR ENDING 30" APRIL 2025.
Again, on behalf of the Trustees i would like to thank the members of the committee, Staff and the volunteers who have again worked so hard during the past twelve months. In the view of the Trustees the accounts give a true and fair view of the Charity's achievements over the past 12 months.
We have been able to maintain our weekly outreach and in the past 12 months we have made visits in August with two coaches to the seaside in Barry Island, in October a visit to Drayton Manor Theme park for the day and then their fireworks display in the evening and of course our Christmas activities with a large party with Santa’s Grotto and presents for the children. Our annual visit to the pantomime went ahead in January 2024 we are now busy making arrangements for this years’ activities. The Parents and Toddler groups have continued with new group meetings on Wednesdays and Fridays and our school holiday activities and our regular holiday outings for the children will be continuing over the next 12 months
We are still meeting in the community centre complex in South Bentley and we thank them again for the use of their facility.
Our partnership links with other service providers in the area are now continuing on a regular basis and we are especially pleased with the finks with the local Schools, Churches and Bentley West Children's Centre. These links continue to be of great benefit to all of us as we seek to work together for the benefit of the disadvantaged children in our socially deprived community.
We are continuing with our fundraising efforts for our on-going activities and have received further grants in the past 12 months which has enabled us to continue with our outreach into the locai community. Our thanks go to the Trusts both large and smaii who have supported us, Saintbury, Dumbreck, C Richards, Murtagh, Charles Lewis, Leigh, Souter,Measures, Gowling, Grimmitt, Fitton, Gallaher,wWA Cadbury, W E Dunn, Harramead, Cole, Casey, R&D Turner, Tufton, Patrick, Ratcliffe, Dorcas, Paget and Seccombe, and those who do not wish to be mentioned.
Over the next 12 months we will be pursuing funding from existing and other sources to help us increase our activities to help us provide activities for the children from our socially deprived area
