The Trustees are pleased to present their report together with the accounts of Friends of Powell
Corderoy School, known as FOPCS, (the charity) for the year ending 31 August 2024.
Ob'ectives and Activities
Friends of Powell Corderoy School is a volunteer led charity dedicated to enriching the educational
experience of pupils at Powell Corderoy School.
Our primary objectives are to:
Foster a strong school community through inclusive events and activities.
Raise funds to support school projects, resources and pupil experiences not otherwise
covered by the school budget.
The PTA works in close partnership with the school to identify funding needs and ensure that every
pound raised directly benefits the children.
Achievements and Performance
During the 2023-24 academic year, the PTA delivered a number of successful fundraising events and
initiatives, which were well supported by the school community.
Fundraising highlights included:
The Christmas Fair which raised £3,320.70
A spectacular Fireworks Night raising £3,285.36
The Summer Fair generating £2,854.08
Generous external donations totaling £6,857
Contributions from Easy Fundraising, Bag 2 School and other passive income sources
These events and effort5 contributed to a strong financial outcome and fostered a sense of
connection among families, staff and pupils.
Financial Review
We began the year with a bank balance of £10,932.53. Our total expenditure for the year amounted
to £13.125.66.
Comprising of:
Event and Operating Costs- £11.052.66
School Contributions and Projects- £2,073.00

Net income for the year was £16,102.93, resulting in a strong closing bank balance of £27,035.46 as
of 31st August 2024.

Future Plans
A significant portion of our closing funds has been allocated for the development of a new trim trail
on the school grounds. This outdoor play and fitness area will provide all pupils with opportunities
for active play. coordination and enjoyment. Representing a long lasting legacy of this yearfs
fundraising efforts.
Looking ahead, we will continue to run our popular seasonal events while seeking fresh ways to
engage the school community and support new initiatives in partnership with the school leadership.
Structure Governance and Mana
ement
Friends of Powell Corderoy School PTA is a registered charity, managed by a committee of elected
trustees and parent volunteers. The committee meets regularly to plan events, review financial
performance and approve expenditure in line with the chariws objectives.
All decisions are made collectively and in consultation with school staff to ensure funds are used
appropriately and with maximum impact.
Constitution
The constitution of the charity was adopted on 22 May 2000 and is based on the model constitution
for Parent Teacher Associations in England and Wales as provided by Parentkind at that time.

Conclusion
We are extremely proud of our achievements this year and deeply grateful for the commitment and
generosity of our volunteers. school staff, families and supporters. Thanks to your efforts, we have
raised valuable funds, delivered meaningful experiences and laid the groundwork for a lasting legacy
through our planned trim trail project.
We look forward to another successful year of supporting Powell Corderoy School and its wonderful
pupils.

l. Restricted Funds- Safer Travel Grant
A grant of £1,112 was received during the year for the Safer Trovel initiative. This funding was
treated as a restricted fund and used specifjcally for promoting safer and more sustainable
travel options for students. The full amount was spent during the year. and no restricted balance
remains at year-end.
2. Accounting Basis
These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis, with minor adjustments
to reflect unbanked cheques at the year end. A5 an unincorporated charity with gross income
below £250,000. the PTA is not required to prepare accrual-based accounts, but the trustees
believe this presentation offers a clearer view of the charity's financial p051tion.
3. Fund Accounting
The PTA maintains a general unrestricted fund to support its activities. Restricted funds are
separately accounted for and are only used for the purposes specified by the donor or grant
provider. For the year ended 31 August 2024. one restricted fund was received and fully utilised
(see Note 11.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Friends of Powell
Corderoy School PTA
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2024, which are set out in
the accompanying financial statements.
Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible forthe preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider
that an audit is not required forthis year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 and that an
independent examination is appropriate.
It is my responsibilityto:
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011;
follow the procedures laid down in the generaL directions given by the Charity
Commission {under section 145(5)(b) ot the Charities Act); and
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement
My examination was carried out in accordance with general directions issued by the Charity
Commission. The examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity
and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration
of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees
concerning any such matters.
The procedures undertaken do not provide alLthe evidence that would be required in an audit.
