## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT ON THE ACCOUNTS**
I report to the trustees of Broadfield Christian Fellowship on the accounts for the year ended 31st of December 2022.
## **RESPONSIBILITIES AND BASIS OF REPORT**
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or
- the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS102).
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

We have around 20 people regularly giving
their time, skill and effort. All our trustees
also give of their time freely. The charity|

church made up of people from all
backgrounds. We are based in the
Broadfield Youth and Community Centre,
which we share with the Church of England
and Roman Catholic churches. We are
adjacent to the local shopping parade,
which includes a large free car park, and
opposite the library and Neighbourhood
Hub, ideally situated for the local
community.
Broadfield Christian Fellowship is a Link
Church within the Ichthus Christian
Fellowship, which is based in South
London, and a member of the Evangelical
Alliance. We are in fellowship with other
evangelical churches in Crawley and have
links with various local Christian groups,
such as The Lighthouse Project, a
Christian ministry to the children of
Crawley, The Christians Against Poverty
Crawley Debt Centre, Holmsted Manor
near Cuckfield, run by Youth With A
Mission, the International Bible Training
Institute in Burgess Hill, and The Easter
Team, a local Christian charity that serves
people who are homeless or in need in and
around Crawley.
We meet every Sunday morning at 10.30
a.m. (10.00 a.m. for refreshments) in the
Community Centre Social Hall for worship
and teaching. Our worship style is informal
and generally led by people from within the
Fellowship, using studies produced by a
variety of sources and with occasional
visiting speakers. We normally celebrate
communion on the third or fourth Sunday in
each month and at other times as
arranged. We also have a weekly Monday
evening prayer meeting, currently via
Zoom, and a weekly home group on
Tuesdays. A weekly news sheet is
produced giving details of all planned
activities and other local Christian events.
On Mondays at 9.30 am we run Little
Lambs Play & Sing toddler group where all|
babies and pre-school children with a carer are welcome. Every Wednesday at 9.15 am we run the Triangle Coffee Shop in the Social Hall, at which coffee, tea and toast are served for a nominal donation. Secondhand clothes and other items are also freely available. This provides an important service to the community and many people drop in during this time. On the third Wednesday of each month, we are visited by the UKHarvest food rescue service. The Coffee Shop has been awarded the highest 5-star Food Standards Agency rating for Food Hygiene by the local authority. David Evans has continued to be employed as Pastor on a part-time basis throughout the year and the three trustees have continued without change.
