Clifton moor out of school club is managed and run as a non-profit making service provider, the club runs in accordance to its governing document (Constitution). Persons wishing to join the committee must be voted on at the AGM, and before taking up the position. All committee members hold a Dbs and are on the update service. Trustees are expected to undergo training such as, safeguarding, and equal opportunities.
The club has policies in place to ensure trustees are properly inducted into the role and are aware of the roles and responsibilities they have taken on. The club has sufficient insurance to cover trustees financial loses, and adequate savings are held to cover any unforeseen circumstances the club may have, ( such as redundancy, loss of fees. )
We continue to support vulnerable families offering free emergency places ,if required or requested by the school .We also continue to be flexible to shift workers and home workers returning to their work premises. The club’s main objective is to provide affordable, accessible childcare for the education and recreation for children out of school hours. Our staff strive to make the club a safe and welcoming environment that children can develop socially, physically, emotionally along with a range of craft activities for their natural creativity to flourish. We have employed an apprentice to support her CPD into childcare and our own playworker is also working towards a level 3 qualification.
We strive to be an asset to the local community and have successfully established our club on the school site. Our club is run by a voluntary committee (trustees) many of which have transferable skills from their careers, or personal lives, that they can use in assistance to the running of our club. We plan and budget for the personal development of all our staff, and our manager attends regular network meeting with York city council. The club shares good practises with other clubs in the York area and is part of the Clifton early years partnership ,and our manager has recently taken on the role as treasurer for the partnership. We continue to be a club led very much by what our children need/want from their time with us, and we involved them in the planning of activities and how the session time is run. The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees report above. Signed on behalf of the charitys trustees

I report on the accounts of Clifton Moor Out Of School Club, Charity number: 1081262 for the year ended 31 August 2024 which are set out on pages 1 and 2.
The responsibilities of trustees and of the examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiners report
My examiners report was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by The Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items of disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiners statement
In connection with my examination, no matters have come to my attention:
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep proper accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
-
to prepare the accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met; or
- to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
