subsidised play activities and resources

Overview
DTL runs 4 Stay and Play sessions each temi time week.
The Toy Store is open for browsing and collectionlreturn of toyslequipment for three
sessions each week for most of the year.
Monthly toy saleslauctions raise vital funds for the replenishment of our toy stock.

The Manager (& Founder) and Toyl S&P Coordinator are supported by several
volunteers. Our Volunteers are key to the successful running of the toy library.
Our Trustee board is small and works behind the scenes to support our staff and
volunteers in meeting the charity's objectives.
Finances
This year sees a deficit of £2,166 - £935 is Confident Communicators spend from the
previous year's grant. The take up for this Derbyshire County Council (DCC)
initiative has been poor with Early Years Settings not engaging as much as the
Council had hoped. Our manager continues to liaise with existing contacts to
provide resources that support speech and language.
Notable changes to our finances are a drop in membership and an increase in room
hire charges & insurance.
Moving Forward
We are working to raise our profile, both in the community and online. This includes
a review of our website to make it more user friendly and accessible. We're also
investigating whether we need to alter some of our sessions to be accessible to
more families. Grant applications continue to be submitted for specific projects.
