WOODCOTE CHARITABLE ASSOCIATION TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR YEAR ENDED 3157 DECEMBER 2025
The Woodcote Charitable Association, a Company Limited by Guarantee, is registered with the Charity Commission (registered charity number 1080742) and constituted by a Deed of Trust, and with Companies House (registered company number 03989364) with Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 10th May 2000.
The Trustees have paid due regard to the activities which are for the public benefit and are as stated by the objectives of the charity which are to promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in the Parish of Woodcote and the immediate surrounds thereof, and in particular the advancement of education, the furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes to the accounts and comply with the charity’s governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014.
The 59" Woodcote Rally was held on the weekend of the 12" and 13" of July 2025. The Rally is the principal fundraising event of the Woodcote Charitable Association and the surplus is then used for donation to local good causes. However, the extreme hot weather over the Rally weekend meant a much lower public attendance, with many authorities urging people to stay indoors. With a consequent reduction in the income and a fixed expenditure resulted in a very small operating surplus. The Trustees then decided to make £5,000 available from the Association’s reserves as working donations to those organisations that assisted in ensuring that the Rally went ahead that weekend. A presentation evening was held on 22™4 November, 2025 at which 20 local good causes received donations to support them in their work for the community of Woodcote in line with the Association objectives outlined above. A list of the donations made is included as Note 2 to the accounts at the end of this report.
The Trustees wish to place on record their gratitude for the work undertaken by the Rally Committee and all the supporters who gave their time freely to ensure the 2025 Rally went ahead.
The Annual General Meeting of the Charitable Association was held in the Woodcote Village Hall on 30th April 2025 with the Trustees and Association members attending. At this AGM Martin Maddock, Geoffrey Capes, Nicholas Bartholomew and Bruce Jones resigned as Trustees in accordance with the Constitution policy relating to retirement by rotation. All four offered themselves for re-election and were reappointed as Trustees:
The 2026 Rally will be held in the same field near Ipsden as in previous years and the 60" Rally is now scheduled to be held over the weekend of the 11" and 12" July 2026.
