WOODCOTE CHARITABLE ASSOCIATION
TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR YEAR ENDED 315T DECEMBER 2024
The Woodcote Charitable Association, a Company Limited by Guarantee, is registered with the Charity Commission (registered charity number 1080742) and constituted by a Deed of Trust, and with Companies House (registered company number 03986934) with Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 10th May 2000.
The Trustees have paid due regard to the activities which are for the public benefit and are as stated by the objectives of the charity which are to promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in the Parish of Woodcote and the immediate surrounds thereof, and in particular the advancement of education, the furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation with the ' objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes to the accounts and comply with the charity’s governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014.
Following a successful Woodcote Rally in 2023 we were unable to use the same field for the 2024 Woodcote Rally. We were able to secure a new site in nearby Ipsden and the 58" Rally was held on the 13" and 14" of July 2024. The Rally is the principal fundraising event of the Association. Organising the Rally in the new field presented various challenges but with good weather and excellent attendance a fine Rally was held. As a result the Association was able to make £18,000 available from the surplus for donation to good causes. The presentation evening was held on 22"4 November, 2024 at which 31 local good causes received donations to support them in their work for the community of Woodcote in line with the Association objectives outlined above. A list of the donations made is included as Note 3 to the accounts at the end of this report.
The Trustees wish to place on record their gratitude for the work undertaken by the Rally Committee and all the supporters who gave their time freely to ensure the 2024 Rally was a resounding success. The Trustees also wish to record their appreciation of the support given to the Rally by numerous local organisations.
The Annual General Meeting of the Charitable Association was held in the Woodcote Village Hall on 24" April 2024 with the Trustees and Association members attending. At this AGM Martin Allwright, John Green, David Lane and Henrietta Harrison resigned as Trustees in accordance with the Constitution policy relating to retirement by rotation. All four offered themselves for re-election and were re-appointed as Trustees. In October 2024, Geoffrey Capes resigned as Chair of Trustees and Nicholas Bartholomew was elected by the Trustees as Chair.
The 2025 Rally will be held in the same field near Ipsden and the 59 Rally is now scheduled to be held over the weekend of the 12" and 13" July 2025.
