Hayles Holcroft RE: AGM Speech 14/09/23

Good Evening All,

Thank you for joining us and for all the continued support. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Hayley, mum of two past tadpoles! and I have been on the committee coming up 7 years now and chair for the last 4.

| would like to start this evening by highlighting how our amazing team here is, Pat and Kacey especially who have been exceptional as ever — this team is tireless in their work ethic and constant focus and support on all the children.

The team like many businesses have been tasked with another financial challenging year with ongoing maintenance and grounds upkeep, teacher strikes! — which tadpoles remined opened throughout - as well as the new government proposals for higher childcare hours — with this in mind our committee are more than ever on the look out for local grants and fundraising opportunities while we look at the financial implications of the new proposals to our income.

We also hope to start fundraising to replace flooring inside and out imminently - any ideas will be well received!

We have had another successful school year - with highlights including the Kings Coronation celebrations, our Christmas fayre (nowa tradition and is always lovely to see all the children and raise much needed funds for Tadpoles, Wild Science end of term treat and our amazing staff joining in with the Campus Colour Run - the children loved cheering on their key workers and throwing paint at them! Tadpoles as always has more exciting plans in the making, and we look forward to another successful year!.

| personally can't thank Pat, Kacey and the whole team enough for what they provide for the children, always going above and beyond their roles and they make my job much easier!!

Just a last note — anyone thinking of joining our committee — we are very welcoming it’s a lovely team to be a part of and to know you are making a difference to the children that go through her! | wouldn’t still be here after all these years if| didn’t love being part of Tadpoles!

That’s all from me - before | pass to our treasurer Michelle just wanted to say - both Michelle and our secretary Beth are stepping down from the committee after a number of years between them - they have both been invaluable these past few testing years and have gone above and beyond whats been asked of them - | would personally like to thank them both very much for making my job here much easier! They will be missed!

Manager Report Tadpoles Preschool September 2023

The last year has been successful for Tadpoles Preschool, many of the Covid restrictions have been removed and the Preschool now operates as before the Pandemic. We have continued to implement some changes forced on us during the Pandemic such as Termly telephone calls with the Keyperson.

These telephone calls have proved more popular with parents than the face to face appointment system and the uptake is around 95% whereas face to face appointments were around the 40% mark.

We have also found that children coming in on their own with parents waiting outside has. been far more successful than all the parents coming into the classroom at the same time which made the start of the day hectic and overwhelming for some children.

Although the upkeep of the building is still a challenge, now we have a SLA (Service Level Agreement) through Hampshire County Council with Corrigenda things are easier than they were before. We have to pay for the SLA contract £200 a month but for that all the internal upkeep is taken on by Corrigenda but outside maintenance is still proving to be a challenge.

We have issues with Tree’s from neighbouring houses causing us problems they over hang our grounds causing damage to the canopy in the Forest School area. One of tree’s is a nut tree which is also an issue. Also the second playground is in need of maintenance the hill is covered in weeds and needs sorting.

We had many successful events throughout the year, including, Mothers Day Breakfast, Father’s Day Breakfast, Children Christmas Party , sponsored coloured run on the Campus and Finally our end of year celebration which was open to all children and this year for the first time was a Wild Science Day, where Lisa from Wild brought many different reptiles and small animals for the children to see and hold. This proved hugely successful and we will be doing the same this year.

We have finished the year with a full role and have started the year in the same position. Some of our children will not be starting until January then we will have no starters until September 2024 as we will be full. There appears to be a shortage of spaces locally to meet the demand which hopefully will be addressed by the local authority before the increase in funding hours starts.

Our thanks as always to our staff team who have been amazing all year and their dedication to their job has always been appreciated, and of course to our committee who are always there to support us not. .

On behalf of Tadpoles Management Team

Pat and Kacey
