INTRODUCTION
THE CHILTERN FREINDS OF THE ENDEAVOUR IS A CHARITY LOCATED IN SOUTH BUCKS. IT SUPPORTS ADULTS WHO ARE OVER 19 YEARS OF AGE, AND HAVE EITHER LEARNING DIFFICULTIES OR RESTRICTIVE PHYSICAL DISABILITIES; AND PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL, TRAINING, LEISURE AND COMMUNITY BASED ACTIVITIES AND EQUIPMENT THAT ARE NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY (SOCIAL SERVICES). THESE ADULTS ARE EITHER BASED AT THE CHESHAM OPERATIONS CENTRE, OR THE WALLED GARDEN LOCATED IN GREAT MISSENDEN.
HISTORY
THE CHARITY WAS FORMED IN 2000 BY A SMALL GROUP OF PARENTS AND FRIENDS AND ORIGINALLY SUPPORTED CLIENTS BASED AT THE ENDEAVOUR RESOURCE CENTRE IN CHESHAM. FOLLOWING CLOSURE IN 2013 SOME CLIENTS WERE REASSIGNED PLACES AT EITHER THE WALLED GARDEN OR “CHESHAM OPS” FOR THEIR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES. THE CHARITY CONTINUED TO SUPPORT ALL THESE CLIENTS IN THE SAME WAY.
THE CLIENTS COME FROM A VERY WIDE AREA INCLUDING GERRARDS CROSS, MARLOW, BEACONSFIELD, THE CHALFONTS, RICKMANSWORTH, AMERSHAM AND CHESHAM.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR
DUE TO THE GENEROSITY OF THE LATE ELIZABETH JEANE LOACH THE CHARITY WAS BEQUEATHED A SUBSTANTIAL LEGACY WHICH WAS RECEIVED IN APRIL 2021. IT IS PLANNED TO PUT THESE RESOURCES TO THE BEST POSSIBLE USE TO STIMULATE ALL THE CLIENTS AT BOTH LOCATIONS, AND PROJECTS ARE ALREADY IN HAND TO PROVIDE ACTIVITIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THEIR GENERAL USE AND PLEASURE.
DURING THE YEAR EVERY CLIENT RECEIVED A CHRISTMAS AND EASTER PRESENT. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES THEY WOULD HAVE ATTENDED PARTIES, BUT DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS THESE PRESENTS WERE GIVEN INSTEAD.
THE CHARITY ALSO PROVIDED SPECIAL FURNITURE, MASSAGE CHAIRS AND EQUIPMENT TO CHESHAM AND VARIOUS TOOLS AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT TO THE GARDEN CENTRE.
FUTURE PROJECTS
THE CHARITY IS IN DISCUSSION WITH BOTH LOCATIONS AND IT IS PLANNED THAT MORE EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY WILL BE PURCHASED FOR THE WALLED GARDEN. IN ADDITION, A HOT TUB WILL BE PURCHASED FOR CHESHAM, AND ONCE COVID RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED THE CHARITY WILL SPONSOR COACH AND BOAT TRIPS FOR ALL THE CLIENTS TO PLACES OF INTEREST AND TO THE SEASIDE. IN ADDITION, IT WILL BE ENSURED THAT THE CLIENTS WILL HAVE AN ENJOYABLE CHRISTMAS.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS
ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2021 ARE ATTACHED TO THE ANNUAL RETURN AND HAVE BEEN INDEPENDENTLY EXAMINED.
FOLLOWING THE CONFIRMATION AND AGREEMENT BY ALL THE TRUSTEES, THIS ANNUAL REPORT IS SUBITTED BY ANGELA BAKER. (TRUSTEE AND HONARY SECRETARY)
