Biddulph Moor. Stoke on Trent, is registered with the Charity Commission INO 1080267J and constituted by Deed of Trust. The management committee aims to provide first class hall facilities at an affordable cost to individuals and voluntary organisations serving the community. The charity retained the services of caretakers and cleaners and depends upon the continuing help of the local volunteers. During the year the hall's use was again restrirted due to covid-19. However. a shortened programme of meetings including car club. dog club. playgroup. evergreens. fitness classes. band practice and dance practice did take place. Grants/fundingtotalling £23,399 was re￿iVed during the year. Reserves decreased by £13,726 due to the Hall refurbishment. However. the committee consider that the reserves are sufficient to maintain the long-term fvnrtions of the Hall. Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The chariVs trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wtth the requirements of the Charities Att 20111.the ACV'I. The charivs tmstees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Art and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under settion 145 of the Charities Act. to follow the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission lunder settion 14515llb] of the Actl, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examinerfs Statement My examination wa5 carried out in accordance with general directions given by the Charity Commi55ion. An examination includes a review of the accounting record5 kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The prO￿d￿reS undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present 'true and fairf view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the Statement below.
