Our board of trustees elected by our AGM congress held on September 25, 2022, held its first meeting on October 1 and carried out the division of labor.

The following commission and working groups have been established on the basis that each member of our board of trustees takes part in at least one commission or working group. Culture and Arts Commission, External Relations Commission, Public Relations Commission, Internal Affairs Commission, Grant working group, Social Media and Press working group.

Our board of trustees held 10 meetings under the headings of evaluation of the work and organisation of future work.

Internal Affairs Commission

What was done;

  1. The library that we have been wanting to organize the interior of our association for a long time has been built and has been appreciated by people.

  2. A room was built in the garden of the association for the 15 bicycles gifted to our association by the London Cycling Club during the cycling course we held last year.

  3. Our monthly breakfasts were held regularly during this period, with the support of our members and friends, and turned into events with high participation. Thanks to these crowded breakfasts, we understand and evaluate the needs and problems of the society and stay in touch.

  4. Our member who works regularly in the association continues to work 5 days a week. While our colleagues continue their training to keep themselves up to date, one of our colleagues will complete the certified training provided by adviceUK and become qualified in order to start our advice service.

Fundraising

Immediately after the congress, our commission components came together and made a plan and started working in line with this planning. Our commission, which plays an important role in covering the financial expenses of our work, made 12 applications this term, 5 of them were successful and 3 were rejected. The results of 4 of them are awaited.

Social Media and Press Work

This commission, which is responsible for making our association visible and reaching a wide audience for its work, actively discusses and fulfills its responsibilities through the WhatsApp group it established.

Our commission, which carried out many tasks such as managing our association's Facebook, YouTube and Instagram accounts, preparing posts about course announcements and actions, preparing the newsletter that has been continuing since the pandemic, and reporting our events, worked harmoniously.

Art Therapy Workshop

This study, which is a 14-week project funded by Awards for All, was conducted online by psychologist Yasemin Hatipoğlu in 2 sessions, Wednesday day and evening, from December to April.

Earthquake Solidarity Study

After the earthquake in Turkey, we started the solidarity campaign by holding a meeting with the institutions in the Unity of Democratic Organosations. Donations was collected by contacting everyone we have relations with through a GoFundMe account opened online. We also collected donations in front of partner stadiums, stations and shopping malls with our organization, Rengin Women’s Choir. Women's participation and ownership in this process was admirable. The financial donations collected for earthquake solidarity was delivered to earthquake regions in Turkey and support was provided to many people.

These activities have also been disseminated through social media and have garnered significant appreciation from wide audiences.

Our organisation has embraced and expanded this work with the perspective of 'Solidarity is the Kindness of the People”. Approximately 70 people, consisting of Rengin Women's Choir and our organization's members and friends, took an active part in this study and helped us complete the process successfully.

Sister Family Campaign

Based on the fact that solidarity after the Turkey- Syria earthquake should be longer-lasting, we started a sister family campaign. Our Sister Family Campaign was carried out jointly by Rengin Women's Choir and Gik-Der. This campaign, which matches a family affected by the earthquake with a family living in Britain and provides material and moral support, started in April and will continue for 1 year. This work continues with 35 supporter families in England.

24 June Earthquake Solidarity Concert

In order to increase solidarity after the earthquake in Turkey, we organized a solidarity night with all proceeds going to the earthquake region. The night, attended by Rengin Women's Choir and famous artists Dodan and Ahmet Aslan, took place on June 24 at Alexandra Palace. Around 900 people attended the night held in a magical atmosphere.

During this period, 21 new members joined us.

In addition, the Rengin Women's Choir continues its work in our institution 2 days a week, on Tuesday and Friday evening. Also affiliated with the choir, rhythm and erbane lessons for women continue on Wednesdays, as well as women's folk dance courses on Wednesday evenings.
