The Trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 30 June 2022
Trustees
The trustees named in the charity information have served throughout the year. Appointment of trustees is governed by the trust deed of the charity. The board of trustees is authorised to appoint new trustees to fill vacancies arising through the resignation or death of an existing trustee. All the trustees give their time voluntarily and received no remuneration or other benefits during the year.
Constitution
The trust fund was set up by a declaration of trust dated 4 November 1999 and was registered with the charity commissioners on 2 March 2000.
Objects
The object is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular, to encourage and foster:
a) The development of acquaintance as an opportunity of service;
- b) High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all usefull occupations , and dignifying of each rotarian's occupation as an oppotunity to serve society;
c) The application of the ideal of service in each rotarian's personal, business and community life;
d) The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Management
The trustees together with the club council, in formal meeting, administer the fund
Activities and achievements
Various activities are organised throughout the year to raise funds which are disbursed by the charity to organisations and individuals whose requests for assistance are considered and approved by the trustees and club council.
Funding policy
The charity raises funds and distributes them throughout the year at various intervals in accordance with the club council. The charity does not need to raise funds to meet liabilities as they fall due as there are no ongoing commitments.
Future plans
It is the intention that the charity will continue to raise funds that will be disbursed in the usual way

Independent examiner's report
to the trustees of Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle Trust Fund
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 30 June 2022, which are set out on pages 2 to 6
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act
-
follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the next statement.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act;
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met; or
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
