STRAY DOGS SANCTUARY

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2025

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 September 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102, effective 1 January 2015).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Objectives and aims

The charity was set up in 1999 to rescue and rehome stray dogs locally.

In 2020 the charity re-oriented to function as a grant making body to other dog and animal rescue charities, as well as providing a small amount of ad hoc funding of veterinary costs for the needy.

Registered with the Charity Commission our stated object is:

“The care and protection of animals in need of care and attention by reason of being stray, neglected or unwanted and to prevent cruelty and suffering to animals. To advance public education in the proper care of animals.”

The trustees have reviewed the outcomes and achievements of our objectives and activities for the year to ensure they remain focused on our charitable aims and continue to deliver benefits to the public. We have complied with the duty under the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE Charitable activities

During the year funds raised via the charity shop and legacies, and funds carried forward from the previous financial year have been distributed to the charities shown below.

Last year’s successful initiative to make donations in excess of annual net income has been repeated this year consequently the charity’s balance sheet has reduced to the target level of £6,000 - £10,000. Going forward the charity expects to donate in excess of £30,000 per year to deserving dog rescue and rehoming charities
