Charity Accounts
The financial year for Croft PTA runs from 1[st] September to 31[st] Aug.
I have printed copies of the 23/24 accounts. If anyone would like a digital copy please ask.
The accounts 23/24 have now been signed off. Thank you to Alex Holden for offering her services free of charge.
Objectives of Croft PTA
The main objective of Croft PTA is to raise money via fundraising events. The money raised is then given back into Croft Primary School in a manner that will benefit the children attending the school. This is achieved by providing the school and the children with extra resources and activities.
We take suggestions from parents, teachers and pupils on how the money is to be spent.
See ‘School Spend’ for further details of how our fundraising events have benefitted the children and the school this year.
Summary of main events.
Funds this year were raised through our regular and popular events. Some new events were also added.
Our Christmas and Summer Fairs are our biggest events in terms of profits made. Year 4 parents organise the Christmas Fair and Year 1 parents organise the Summer Fair. This arrangement was implemented a previous PTA committee but works well and will be implemented for the foreseeable future. A big thank you to all the parents who come forward to help at these events!
Also returning this year was the Halloween disco which was held after school on a Friday. We hired a DJ and included a hotdog, crisps and a drink with the £5 ticket price. We also sold sweets and drinks through our Tuck Shop.
The ever popular Jim Jam Jog and Make the Rules Day are a fantastic profit makers as we have little expenditures.
The Circus came to Croft Primary in May. This was a large spend for the PTA at a cost of £3364 to hire Happy Circus performers and big top. Funds were raised though ticket sales as well as through stalls and food venders who paid a pitch fee. Attendees were invited to bring picnic blankets and camping chairs. Weather was perfect and it turned out to be a great success.
Other successful tuck shops include the Ice Lolly sale, and the Matilda performance. Raffles for Easter and the circus were also popular.
We have non-event based income including the clothes recycling bank at the front of the school gates, school uniform sales, Easy Fundraising and the School Lottery. These are great low maintenance profit earners.

We received a kind donation from the former Croft Early Years nursery which used to be next to St Lewis’ primary school. They split the money remaining in their account with us and St Lewis’.
We started using PTA Events for ticket sales. A fee is taken by PTA Events and a fee is taken from Stripe to process the payment. This has reduced the involvement required by the office staff at the school and gives us full visibility on sales.
Summary Income Vs Expenditure.
The Gross Income for the financial year 2022/2023 was £29,013.66
Expenditure for the financial year 2022/2023 was £25,990.39
Our profit from our fundraising activities and other income this year is £20,013.77

Future Spending
As per previous year we will offer funds towards School Trips and Year 6 Leavers as well as the DJ for the Christmas disco.
Our current focus for spending is on the infant and junior playgrounds. We plan to remove the current markings and get new ones painted. We are also looking at re-surfacing if funds will allow.
The PTA like to arrange a ‘treat’ for the children every year. Last year was a Circus Skills day. We are open to ideas for this year.

We have a very special event coming up in November; our first ever PTA Ball. Although a lot more work is involved than other events, we hope it will be a success and raise some further funds.
