Structure, governance & management
Description of the charity’s trusts:
Type of governing document: Constitution How the charity is constituted: Association Trustee selection method: Nominated, seconded and voted for election at AGM and committee meetings
Additional Governance information
The PTA works closely with the head teacher, head of school, year group leads and with other members of staff at the school. The PTA holds regular committee meetings, ordinarily every half term and at a minimum once per term. In addition, subcommittees are formed to work on specific events and activities, which report back to the PTA committee.
This year we have had no changes to the trustees as illustrated in the trustee information above.
Section C
Objectives and activities
Summary of the objectives of the charity set out in its governing document To promote, support and encourage the education of the pupils at the school. To provide and assist in the provision of facilities for their education at the school, not normally provided by the Local Education Authority.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in furtherance of these objectives
Development of school and parent/guardian relationships
The PTA undertakes fundraising activities throughout the year, which are accessible to the entire school community, such as the ‘Christmas Fair’ and ‘Summer Fair’. This year we also held a mini-marathon event to tie in with the London Marathon, Readathon as part of World Book Day, as well as wreath making, school disco, and Bingo. We aim to encourage and promote whole school and stakeholder participation and engagement, with a focus on building relationships in the wider school community.
In addition to major fundraising efforts, the PTA organises activities such as second-hand uniform sales and free to attend events which aims to make life easier for all families.
Provision of funds and facilities
During the financial year 2024-25, the PTA provided to the school £14,609 for the provision of learning resources for the pupils and their parents. This included £6,361 for screens, £1,500 for Place2Be, £1,371 for the refurbishment of the Medical Room as well as a host of other resources including trips. The PTA is aiming to fund a playground renovation in the coming year.
;
In planning our activities for the year, the trustees kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our committee meetings.
Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main activities and achievements of the charity during the year
In the Autumn term, the major event was the Christmas Fair, which raised £5,303, which was open to school families, as well as the local community. The PTA also organized a Wreath Making workshop and a Christmas Tree sale, generating £1,485.
In the Spring the PTA organised a sponsored ‘readathon’ to run alongside World Book Day events, collectively these events raised £3,872. As well as the mini-marathon £402 and Bingo £767.
In the Summer term the PTA held the Summer Fair raising £7,678. The PTA assisted with events for our Year 6 leavers, which included a car wash, sponsored walk and fiver challenge, raising an impressive £2,799. This money was spent on year books, a leavers disco and a host of other fun activities.
Across the year, £3,950 sponsorship was raised from our amazing Sponsors.
In total, the PTA raised £32,800 through fundraising activities (receipts £40,402, payments £7,602) and donated £16,067 to the school and events for the children.
Section E
Financial review
Statement of the charity's policy on reserves
The PTA does not have a formal policy on reserves, but the treasurer seeks to maintain sufficient money in the bank accounts to fund all forthcoming expenditure such as floats and expenses for events, and any commitments to donations to the school. At no point in the year was the account overdrawn.
The combined balance in the current account and PayPal account on 1st September 2024 was £15,512. The account balances on the 31 August 2025 totaled £31,326, of which £2,136 is restricted and will be used on reading resources and the playground in the coming year. The cash movement of £15,814 is represented by fundraising activities of £32,800, less donations made of £16,067, and other expenditures of £919.
There are no funds in deficit.
Section F
Other optional information
The PTA would like to thank all pupils, family members and staff for their assistance in activities during the year.
Section G
