legacy income is recogni8ed when receipt is Pfobable and entiljement is established.
income from donated goods is measured at the fair value of the goods unless is
impractical to measure reliabty, in which case the value is derived from the cost to the donor

Where investrnents in shares are publty traded or their fair value can otherwise be measured
reliably, the investment is subsequently measured at fair value with changes in fair valu8
recognised in income and expenditure. All other such invesljnents are subsequently measured at
cost less impaimenL
Other financial instruments, including deTrrfatives. are initially recognised at fair value, unless
payment for an asset is deferred beyond nonnal business terms or financed at a rate of interest
that is not a market rate, in which case the asset is measur￿1 at the present value of the futur•
payments discounted at a marf(et rate of interest for a similar debt instrument.
Other financial instruments are subsequentty measured at fair value, with any changes recognised
in the Statement of financial activitie8, with the excepts.on of hedging instruments in 8 de8ignated
hedging relab-onship.
Financial assets that are measured at cost or amortised cost are reviewed for objactiva evidence
of impairment at the end of each reporting date. If there is obj'ective wiidence of impainnent, an
