Objectives and actlvities
The objectives of the Charity are the relief of povety amongst persons in need and hardship in the
Jewish communty., the advancement of education according to the beliefs and values of the orthc(lox
Jewsh faith and the advancement of the Jewish orthodox religion for Russian Jewry in Israel, Europe
and former Soviet Union countries.
During Ihe seventy years of communiol rule in the Soviet Union. all religion were effectively banned and,
as a result, most Soviet Jewry (numbering well over two million) have virtually no knowledge of their
heritage. To deal with this situation, a number of educational facilities were established in Moscow
funded by donations raised in Westem Europe to enable a number of sludents to study Judaism.
Since the war between Russia and u￿.{aine had started we have ￿8$ed all of our operations in Russia
and now concentrate solely on further ng cultural and educational activities for Russian speaking Jewry
worldwide. We support Russian speab.ing Jewry worldwide with provision of services to relief
poverty,
publishing of bcoks with Jewish malerial and cultural aclivities within framework of
Shulchan Oruch. We have established Jewish cultural centres in Israel to assist Ukrainian and Russian
war refugees.
Grant making and Public Benefrt polic'i
The trustees confimi that they have referred to Ihe guidance contained in the Charity Commission's
general guidance on public benefit and in particular to rts supplementary public benefit guidance on
advancing education when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning future activities
and setting grant making policy for the year. The trustees consider they have met the public benefit test.

Jewish Education and Publishing Trust
Independent Audltor's Report to the Members of Jewish Education and
Publishing Trust (continued)
Year ended 31 March 2025
Auditor's responslbilities for the audit of the financlal $L￿ements
Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole
are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. and to issue an auditor's report that
includes our opinion. Reasonable assJrance is a high level of assurance. but is not a guarantee that an
audit conducted in accordance with ISAS (UK) will a￿VayS detect a malerial misstatement when il exists.
Misstatements can arise from fraud or error and are considered material if, individually or in the
aggregate, they coukl reasonably be expected to Influen￿ the economic decisions of users taken on
the basis of these financial statements.
Irregularities. including fraud. are instances of non-compliance wrth laws and regulations. We design
procedures in line with our responsibilities, outlined above. to detect material misslatements in resped
of irregularities, including fraud. The exlent to which our prttedures are capable of delecting
irregularities, including fraud is detailed below=
We obtained an understanding of the legal and regulatory framewo￿ that the Jewish Education and
Publishing Trust operates in. and identified the kèy laws and re9ulations that had a direct effect on the
detemiination of material amounts and disclosures in the financial statements.
As part of an audit in accordance with ISAS (UK), we exercise professional judgment and maintain
professional scepticism throughout the audtt. We also..
Identrfy and assess the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements. whether due lo
fraud or error, design and perform audit pr￿edureS responsive to those risks, and obtain audit
evidence that is Suff￿lent and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion. The risk of not
detecting a material misstatemerit resulting from fraud is hKJher than for one resulting from error,
as fraud may involve collusion. forgery. intentional omissions. misrepresentations, or the overrrde
of internal control.
Obtsin an understanding of intemal conlrol relevant to the aud•t in order to design audit procedures
that are appropriate in Ihe circumstances. but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the
effectweness of the intemal control.
Evaluate the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting
estimates and related disdosure¢ made by the trustèes.
Conclude on the appropriateness of the trustees, use of the going concern basis of accounting
and. based on the audit evidence obtained. whether a matenal uncertainty exists related to evenls
or condrtions that may cast significant doubt on the charity's abilty to continue as a going concern.
If we conclude that a material uncertainty exists. we are required lo draw attention in our auditor's
report to the related disclosures in the financial ststements or. rf such disclosures are inadequate,
to m￿lfy our opinion. Our conclusions are based on the audit evidence obtained up to the dale of
our auditor's report. However, future events or condrtions may cause the charity to cease to
continue as a going concem.
Evaluate the overall presentation, structure and content of Ihe financial statements, including the
disclosures, and whether the financial statements represent the underlying transactions and events
in a manner that achieves fair presentstion.
