During the seventy years of coMm￿lSt rule, all rdigion was effectively banned and, as a resu￿ most of SOv￿t Jewry (numbering well over two million) have virtually no knowledge of their heritage. To deal with thls sttuation, a number of educational facilities were established in Moscow fvnded by donations raised in ￿Stern Europe to enable a number of students to study Judaism. Since the war between Russla and Ukraine had started we have ceased all of our operations in Russia ana now coneentrate solely on furthering cullural and educational acttviiies for Russian speaking Jewry worldwkle.
