Review of ma.or rlsks
The trustees have reviewed the risks faced by the Group. It has been agreed that the major
risks are associated with the health and safety of young people under their supervision, and
that guidelines provided by the S(x)ut Association must always be adhered to.
To that end, the following policies are adopted: _
All appointed leaders must hold the relevant first aid certificate.
Leaders holding the appropriate certification must conduct all activities undertaken.
The quartermasters must check all equipment at regular intervals.
All Leaders, Group Executive Members and Group Occasional Helpers must have
received a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring SeNice Enhanced Clearance.
Intsrnal Control
The group has in place systems of internal controls that are designed to provide reasonable
assurance against material mismanagement or loss; Ihese include 2 signatories for all cheque
and online payments and comprehensive insurance policies to ensure that insurable risks are
covered.
Reservos
The Group has no particular ongoing activities that require a constanl supply of funds.
However, in order that emergency repairs to the Minibus and Garage may be carried out
promptly and to cover costs in unforeseen circumstances. we have reviewed the reserves and
consider that reserves of £4,000 should be maintained. Funds are also available to subsidise
those young people who would otherwise be unable to participat8 in an actimty for financial
reasons.
Thank
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Group throughout the year, to all our Group
Executive Members, Parents and Supporters.
Finally, I would like to thank Westborough Melhodist Church, our sponsoring authority, for
providing us with both support and accommodation to be able to run a vibrant and successful
Scoul Group.
