Signifiwice Report by the acknowledged leading cxpeIi in th¢ fi¢ld Dr David Gwyn. The Ch￿lty h&8 ¢ngaged with the
servitts of Clarke Associates in order to begiti developing a sustainabl¢ future stratcgy for the historicalty
significant Sl#¢ Mill and as8ociatedBuilding$ at Ma¢nofferen.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITAES

The ch￿lty has conlintsed throughout the year lo develop its plans to r¢scue the hi8tOTically significant Maenotre
Mill Building. The Tn￿lee8 have w￿￿ed ivith the c1￿]ty's a￿￿1t¢¢t lo d¢v¢lop a package of Enwgency WoTks wbich
will ensure th¢ building i& PTOtect¢d in the shoff krni wliilsi futur¢ plans are developed.
The Charity h&$ worked with Almond Tree Consu]tsncy - with tbe support of the ATchite¢tswal Heritage Fund -
Inodernise its governance Al￿ beg8ll the process of recrnitmcnt for additional t￿￿teeS lo broaden th¢ base of expuience
and knowledge.
afr HeTitag¢ International began a fvndraising campaign during the year to rais¢ finNls' lo support the work of th¢
C￿￿ity and iu porti¢ular ibe Emergency Works progra￿￿¢ for the MaenoffereD Mill.
Signific#nt aclivi￿e$
Tb¢ year ending S¢pt¢mbcr 2024 saw the ch￿lty taking sigoifi¢anl gcti02) to prok¢t th¢ Maenofferen Mill Buildings.
The ChaTity entered in to a long lease oveT the buildings ¢nJbling ti to begin the pIo¢ess of preserving the sttw¢mres for
the ￿t￿re.
The Clwity Taised Ojuds of just less than £IOO,000 frtsm CADW alld the Architectural H¢rirage Fund to whom the
Truste¢s wish to expres5 tbcir graiittth. Tb¢ shor￿all in funds b¢tween molli¢s r4ised and spen¢ oo adD)inistraiion aJ]d
protection of the buildings iva5 provided for by donations aud loans from J IV Greaves & Sons Ltd to whom the Twstees
ar¢ also 8rat¢fiJl.
The expenditure OD administration r¢pres¢nted a very modest 40/* of incon￿ reeeived. The r¢mainder being spent on fees
retsting th the emergency works to strdbilise Ihe building and th¢ ¢mergency works th￿nSelveS. At the end of the year
subslantial omounts of roof limbers had been supported, temp)rary riK>fmg installed to prote¢t key parts of the building
aiid asbest(>S Temovefl represeniin8 a genuine new begirnbing for these important stNctures.

Thc Charity is working with both David Clarke As8￿14t¢S and through the a￿Spice8 of the Tn￿te¢S to ¢n8ure that Public
Benefit is at th¢ heart of ihe suslainable fiJtLTre strategy for thc buildin8S.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The Trustees have rnatntaincd a review of the Charity's financial position and hav¢ had continuing di8logJe with its
single si8ÉJificant ¢r¢thtor. The Trustees remfiiti ¢onfident that they cat) rdise suffi¢i¢ni funds to me¢t current alld futwe
obligations. A finattcial policy in¢luding rescrves policy is being developed by rhe Ch￿lty as of the Governan¢¢
Review outlined above.
