Annual Report
The Trustees present their annual report with the unaudited Financial Statements for the year ended 31 August 2024.
Principal activity
During the year to 31 August 2024 the principal activity of The Friends of St Edwards Catholic Primary School was to raise funds to support the repairs to the School roof. A direct appeal to families raised over £13,551, with a further £1,001 raised through events such as non-uniform days.
In addition to this the main events organised during the current financial year were the:

Christmas Raffle (£1,535),

Disco (£1,552), and

Silent Disco (£1,585).
Match Funding raised (£1,802) during the year, along with the school lottery £1,112).

1. Accounting policies
Accounting convention
The Financial Statements have been prepared on the basis of cash accounting. All cash receipts have been recorded when cash is received, and expenses when they are paid in cash.
2. Events
During the current financial year we have continued to raise funds from Your School Lottery and Easy Fundraising in addition to various events held throughout the year.
During the current financial year the Your School Lottery which allows participants to buy a number of lines with a chance of winning a weekly prize, The Friends of St Edwards then receive 40% of the donations has continued to run. The winners also have the opportunity to donate winnings back to The Friends of St Edwards, during the year this has generated £1,112.
The Friends of St Edwards have continued to grow the number of active participants who use Easy Fundraising, this is a cashback website which means that over 4,000 shops and sites will donate a percentage of the amount spent every time a registered user shops through the Easy Fundraising app or website. This year we raised £600 during the current year.
The table below shows the income received for the main events during 2023/24.
