Melvin Robinson continues to be Chaimian. A Ton Taylor continues to serve as Honorary Treasurer.
Daliah Melidi continues to serve as Cliief Executive Officer.
In addition to the ongoing meetings of the Board's committees, ad hoc fundraising ¢ommittees were
formed to hold fundraising events.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Youth Aliyah Child Rescue raises funds to help support the maintenance of the 2.600 children and
youngsters currently residing in tlie five Youtl) Villages and two leadership programmes under the
auspices of our charity. These children have b¢¢n designated 'at risk, by the authoritie5 and I￿ve
voluntarily cliosen to enter our programm¢. In addition, the Irustees have coininitted to supporting the
Village Way Educational InitiatlV¢s foT an additional period of one year. This support will help the
programme. currently aciive in over 70 educational settings. io take the ethos of our Youth Villages into
other Youth Villages and educational institutions working with at risk cl)ildren across Israel.
As well as general maintel￿nCe (bTidging the defieit of the government subsidy) w¢ help fund major
projects such as new dormitories, sports and arts facilities, th¢rapeuii¢ programmes. and provide
scholarships and vocational training.

Events
On Monday 18 April 2022, 35 supporters were taken on a tour of two Youth Villages 111 Israel.
On 26 June 2022, six pcople participated in the Maccabi Fun Run for our charity.
On l March 2023, a group of 15 donors enjoy¢d an evening at the home of our Life Pairon, Adrienne
Su5sman. We were joined by SI￿an Weijel. Deputy Director of Yemin Orde. and She gave us an update
on the Youth Village.

Excluding grants payable, the Charity's expenditur¢ in 2023 of £255.778 repre5enls an incT¢as¢ of I lQ/o

activities during the year.
The Chairity's expenditure of £255,778, which are listed in detail on note 6 of the Accounts, represents
a ratio of 290/0 of total in¢oJn¢. Support and Governaiice Cost5 represent a ratio of130/o of total income.
Our grants to the Villages in Israel totalled £714,522 which was a reduction from £767,092 in 2022.
Th¢ Trust¢¢S' Te5erve5 policy aims to maintain general reserves broadly equivalent to one year's support
and governance to ensure continuity of service. The general reserve as ar 31 March 2023 stood at
£402.81 l and the Trustees ¢onsid¢r ihar this wnount m¢ets their aims and allows a further suin lo be
distributed.

The financial slalemenls have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Stalernenl of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounls in
accordance wf(h the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol Ifeland (FRS
102- effective 1 January 20151- (Charities SORP FRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.
The Charitable company meets the definition of a public benefit enlily under FRS 102 Assets and

relevant accounting policy or note.

The financial statements consolidate the results of Youth Aliyah - Child Rescue and ils subsidiary
undertakings on a line by line basis. A separate statement of financial aclivilies for the charity
excluding consolidated organisalions is not presented as the company has taken advantage of the
exemption afforded by SKlion 408 of the Companies Act 2006.
b) Golng concern
The Iruslees consider Ihal there are no material uncertainties about the charitable company's ability lo
continue as a going concern. The Iruslee5 do not consider that there are any sour￿$ of estimalion
uncertainly al the reporting dale that have a significant Ilsk of causing a material adjustment to the
carrying amounls of assets and liabilities with1n the next reporting period.
c) Income
Income is recognised when the charity has enlf(lemenl to the funds, any performance condf(ion5
attached lo the Income have been mel. il is probable that the income will be received and that the
amount can be MeaSu￿d reliably.
Income from government and other gran15, whether 'capital' grants or 'revenue' grants, is recognised
when the charity has entillemenl to the funds. any performance conditions allached lo the grants have

Unrestricted funds are available to spend on activities that further any of the purposes of charity.
Designated funds are Unrestr￿ted funds of the charity which the trustees have decided al their
discretion lo sel aside to usè for a specific purpose. Restricted funds are donations which the donor
has specified a￿ to be solely used for particular areas of the charity's work or for specific projeels
being undertaken by the charity.
g) Expondtturn and Irrocovorable VAT
Expenditure is recognised On￿ there is a legal or ¢onslruclive obligation lo make a payment lo a third

Costs of raising funds comprise of trading costs and the costs incurred by the charitable company
in inducing third parties lo make voluntary contributions to it, as well as the cost of any aclivrties
with a fundraising purpose.
Expenditure on charitable actiwties includes the c0515 of delivering services undertaken to further
the purposes of the charity and their ass¢xialed support costs.
Other expenditure represents those items not falling into any other heading.
