The Charity provides free, iTnpartial, confidential and independent advice for the benefit of the local community
ill Broxtowe and the wider Nottinghamshire Community as appropriatc. Wc also exer¢i$e a responsible influcnce
ott the development of social policies and services and to en5ur¢ individuals do not suffer tI￿OUgh lack of
knowledge or an inability to expTess their needs effectively.
The Charity's activities ben¢fit thc public by providing advice to ¢nable ittdividuals to deal with problems in
their hves, includin8 but not limitcd to fiTVdnoial, housing and employment issues. The charity a]so seeks to
infiuence policies and seryi¢es to help reduce these problems in the Ion8 terni.
The tNstees confirni that they have complied with th¢ Tequirements of section 17 of the Clwities A¢t 2011 to
have due regard to the public bettefit guidance publis1￿d by the Charity Commission for Engl&nd at]d Wales.

In the last 12 months, CAB has helped 6.767 clients with 17.356 i&sues which ose wide rdnging snd complex.
CAB has provided a summary analysis of the enquiries that were handled between April 2021 and March 2022.
The majority of these ¢onta¢ls related to debt and benefils rnatter5, With the temaining enquiries being classified
s housing. employment, sI￿pOSI]ng, legal. relationships, financial. eonsumer. utiliti¢s, hea]th, tax. othcr. travel,
immigration and educatio
We have seen a large increas¢ in people coming to ￿$ with housing related enquirie5 and work closcly with
Broxlowe Coull¢ils depath¢nts {r¢nts, housitig, income) to jointly assist elients.
CAB ha5 4Iso assisted clients in accessing £4.7 million of additi¢)nal bencfits, which makes a hug¢ differenee to
their wellbeillg a5 well as supporting the local economy. This is th¢ largcst amount we have ever gained for the
residents of Broxtowe whi¢h shows thc difference our setvi¢c can rnake to those facing fiDancial crisis.
W¢ offer face to face advice from premises in Beeston (cfrlocated witb Broxtowe Borough Council), Eastwood
(as part of the Library building} atsd we have an outreach location in Stapleford Car¢ Centre. Our staff and
volunteers Work from thesc 3 sites Monday to Friday.

The T￿￿￿teeS have agrecd a budget for 2022123 with a deficit of £IOOk. in the expectation that the organisation
will secure additional funding during the year to significantly reduce this deficit. The T￿￿tee5 ale confident that
the organisation will finish the year with reserves within the ttserves ptslicy. All tbe inco￿£ from fundcr5 is
guarantttd and we do not expect any of them to end agreements early.
Our Cbief Executive and Development Contractor have an ongoing programme of applying for grants and
developing partnerships to generate future funds. The Chief Executive maintains relationships with existing
fjjnders to ensure ContinU￿10n. We are als(> working collaboratively with the other 5 Nottinghamshir¢ Citizens
Advice offices to share roles alld resources as well &$ 4pply foT fimdin8 across the Couoty.
