Knutsford Musical Theatre Company, changed its name midyear to become ‘The Musical Theatre Company’ the company however continued to trade as Knutsford Musical Theatre Company for the year of this report.

The objectives of the Company remain same, to develop public appreciation of Musical Theatre and make theatre going affordable for all. The membership contribute to the running of the Company and receive no payment for the shows.

The company relies on membership subscription/ donations and ticket sales to cover the cost of the shows. We also charge for advertisements in show programmes. We have fundraising events and apply for grants where available. The company continues to have a ‘community fund’ which provides subsidized tickets to communities, where money is a barrier to attending the theatre. Monies from this, fund tickets to allocated shows whilst the funds last.

During 2023-24 total of £190 was received from front of house donations towards this fund

The company aims to put on two shows each year Each show has a Director, Musical Director and Choreographer. Auditions are open to all. The Company Rehearse Wednesday evenings and a month prior to production this is increased to include Sunday afternoons as well.

Behind the scenes there is production team who organise the wardrobe, lighting and sound. The team also produce the programmes and organize advertising of the shows.

We aim to put on a show in October and May each year. For the year in question, TMTC put on a production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, in May and our October production was ‘The Band’.

Both shows were well supported by the public, ticket sales were higher than the previous year, we are in a good position to stage our regular 2 shows in 2025-26
