In 2024 sales were below 2023 levels by 8% however the shop still achleved over £1,000 a week. Trading profits were also lower at £31.Ik which included a spend of £8.3k from JMR propertv maintenance, palnting and repalring the property, to ensure we are adherlng to the condltlons of our lease. In 2024 we continued to support local projects, and individuals. Grants to Holy Trlnity church were Conslderable in 2024 having made no contrlbution in 2023. This amounted to £20.8k and was used to repair the roof, install a new screen, replace 2 agelng laptops and support the new Children & Families Leader. Hurst Festival remalns an Important reclpient £5k, our focus belng to support events within the festival which are free to all, including Super Sunday, a village event for everyone. Thls year we have sent a grant £5k towards the renovation of a bathroom in the Almshouses of the Holy name in Brighton Road. We have also supported St 8arts in Albourne to repalr a dangerous electrical system in the church. The new Hurst Folk festival in November whlch started in 2023 is also supported to the tune of £1.5k We have contrlbuted £1.5k towards a community project called Grow It & Cook it undertaken by Albourne C of E school. The Befriended grant of £l.Ok towards a series of social events in the summer called "Holiday at home" which includes a theatre trlp to Chichester. St Lawrence fair was again given a grant of £l.Ok to help with the costs of the falr. We sUPPOrted Sants Sunday with a grant of £0.75k and Melting pot café with the provision of a number of indoor games We also paid a grant to the Sanctuary for new reusable cups £0.5k. There were also a number of smaller grants which are listed in the accounts.
