Hurst Community Charity was formed in August 1999 Registration number 1077138. We are an unincorporated association and the governing document was adopted in October 1998 amended in July 1999.

The Rector and Churchwardens are trustees according to the constitution, the remainder of the Trustees stand for re-election at the Annual General meeting.

2021 was a return to better trading with sales increasing to £26.4k, from 2020 sales of £14.0k.Trading is not yet back to pre-covid levels which were at around £45.0k

In 2021 we have supported a number of local projects and individuals including Hurst Festival, St Lawrence school, Hurst Hedgehog Haven & a young local gymnast. We also helped support the Christmas traders evening with a grant to the Traders association.

Local charities include, Fairfield Mother & Toddler Group, Hurst District Childminders & Hurst Community charity group. We also donated to The Monday Group who continue to replace and renovate stiles, and walk ways around the Parish.

Holy Trinity remains a benefactor, with significant contributions to the reordering project. The contributions in 2021 were an accumulation of a number of year’s profits which had not been taken until 2021. The new projector, screen and sound desk in the church has made a significant impact on the workings of the church. The new systems coupled with new flexible seating has enabled the church to enter the 21[st] century, an enable weddings, funerals and concerts to be “live” streamed, particularly useful when relatives live abroad.

The trustees would like to sincerely thank all our volunteers for their continuing support and dedication without which none these projects would be possible.
