The Hosking Houses Tru51 is coL$ti￿ted und£T a trust deed dated April 1995 and is a registe￿ charity
(no. 1076713). It is controlled by this trust deed and constitutes an uninco4)orated charity. The object
of tbe charity is the relief of w)verty by providing. maintaining and improving accommodation aDd
financRal suppon for women artistslwritrrs of further promise and acknowledged acbievemeni.
Organtsatlon and management
The yvdr was marked by the compararive Unaval￿bIlIty of Sarah Hosking, the fouDderlsecretary due to
two bouts of surgeryl¢onvales¢en¢e. Nevertheless she maintained the handliDg of Church Cottage and
a¢commcdating residents throughout the year and resumed SecreWi￿ duties in March 2022.
AdminisTrtive and manag¢n)ent n)atters were otherwise Iwulled by the ¢￿ir, Kale M¢Luskie and the
tnts¢￿5.
Meetings and 1rn5tee5
Five for￿￿1, ￿Inuted meetiw were held during the ye4r (8 April, P Juthe. 4 Iktober, 9 Dec¢mbeT
2021 and 2 Marth 2022) l*sides two iDfoTmaL Un￿l￿ted tlleetiDgS Winter 2022.
The book-keeper (Heather Taylor) Continu￿ io seTre HHT as does David Fleicher {fomier director of
fthance for the RSC) who again prepar&% the accounts. Our two oc¢asionallpaid stsff, Andrnv Holtom

Activities and Jcbievtments

After two E>eriods of closure due to Covid {the second lasted frotll January to early April 2021) Church
Cottage w&$ r￿pened. A more thorough system of cleaning was instigated between residenls, who
were each asked for health aTMI Covid related details on arrival. and subsequently a full progrdmrne of
seventeen re5idenci¢s maintained throughout the year.
Collaboration between HHT and Coventy University (now in its fourth year) was maintained with nvo
ma¢ure and d]ve￿e appoinie&s. Samilarly collatx)ration with Me￿ury Mu%i¢als Developmeni resulted
in five appoiniees. one a comwiiion winner of which the prize was a week in Church Coithge.
All submitted app￿latiVe reports and these with theirpoTtraits are on the website under Gallery.

circulated accordingly. A llew application prepard in autumn 2021 whereby HHT initiated
Collabo￿110￿ WRth Write[5 Wcsi Midlands on a proje£t called Y)peD House.. whereby ten writers from
ginal and alterualive 50cielal group5 would each come for a short per1￿ to Church Cottage for a

Fynd-raising
Louis¢ Jell¢y was appointed as a temporary fimd-raiser on behalf of HHT. From January 2022 she

Financial review
HHT listed income is Xnfiated by the £27,330 from ACE for & w)styx)ned project but once that is
subtracted. HHT income just exceeded its total exFKndI￿re by £544 vAiich in Mr Macawb&s tern)s

A combination of loyal donors. monthty di￿1 debits and re-claimed gifi aid enabled HHT io function
even when its secre¢aryJfounder was incapacitsted bui this event has highlighted the necessity for
future staff plam?ing.
