ACTIVITIES
As a community church we endeavour to be in the community, for the community. Our mission is to
fulfil the commission given to us by Jesus Christ in being the Gospel Igood news) by word and by our
actions.
Regular meetings and gatherings of people take place on Sundays and at other times, to teach
Christian faith. The congregations comprise people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Small groups taking place in localised areas form a foundation for church stability and growth.
We run a children's and youth programme.
We also seNe our community through the following.. .
Money Advice Project to advise people in the community about benefits, debt management and
related issues.
'Dial-a-friend" helping people in a practical way
Family Fun days
Alpha courses, explaining the Christian faith
Working with the Black Country Food Bank
Reaching out to the Asian community
Other varied ways in which members of Walsall Community Church are helping people,
neighbours in the community both spiritually and with practical issues.
ACHIEVEMENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
The Goldmine congregation continues to gather in the town centre and is becoming an increasingly
racially diverse community.
The Coalpool Church is starting to reach the limits of the space available for them at St Peters Church
Hall, meeting there on a Sunday afternoon and increasingly for other events.
We have continued to own and operate the Midland Road Chapel building IMRC}, for a black majority
church and training project and have further been gifted another small chapel (The Crescent) for
similar use or disposal towards our charita ble objectives.
The Walsall Money Advice Project (WMAPI has continued to operate, with an increased focus on the
cost of living crisis. Clients continued to be referred from WATMOS Community Homes. Other clients
(outside these group} were also helped. WMAP continues be key in the the delivery of the Black
Country Food Bank
Walsall Community Church supports and contributes towards the work of Trans4m International, an
associate charity working with overseas churches and community projects. WCC also made donations
to support outreach and needs in Pakistan and Nigeria.
The Table café has had a reasonably successful year and, although it operates as a separate
Community Interest Company ICICI, it is intentional in creating a Godly spiritual atmosphere and as a
"doorf, to Jesus Christ and the church. In December 2023 we made them a £6371 loan in order to
purchase a debt from a supplier and this is on course to be repaid by monthly instalments byjuly 2024

PUBLIC BENEFIT
The main activities undertaken by the charity further the charity's purpose for the public benefit. The
trustees have had regard for guidance on public benefit.
VOLUNTEERS
WCC is grateful to all individuals within the church who have given their time and used their talents
to bring the Kingdom of God on earthl
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial Position
WCC is grateful to individuals contributing by tithes and offerings Thanks, also, to organisations which
have contributed.
Total funds brought forward from the previous year were at a healthy level, establishing a strong bas15
to support the work of the charity. Regular giving income {tithes, offerings, special offering} shows a
7% increase over last year's giving (excluding WMAP}. Funding for WMAP was mostly received from
WATMOS Community Homes, The Black Country Food Bank, and Walsall Council
At the request of the Vine Trust we repaid early the loan made to allow us to purchase the lease on
33 Lower Hall Lane annex (which stood at £10,351 at the year startl and so we are now debt free and
in a position to consider an offer from them to purchase the freehold on the entire of 33 Lower Hall
Lane.
