LANGTOFT PRE-SCHOOL

TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT (CONTINUED)

YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2021

Objectives and activities (continued)

Langtoft Pre-School aims to provide the best possible educational start for the children in a clean, safe and stimulating environment where educational, social and physical development can be fostered.

The Covid 19 pandemic has hit the preschool hard with regards to the number of children attending. We utilised the furlough scheme where we could and reduced the number of staff hours and relied heavily on grants that were made available. We are starting to see an increase in the numbers of children applying to attend as parents feel more confident once again. This is a real positive and we hope this to continue over the new school year. We have produced a new website and advertised locally to increase our visibility within the local area.

Financial review

The trustees considered the financial performance of the charity for the year under review to be satisfactory.

The Pre-school continues to receive Lincolnshire County Council educational funding and in addition has received a £2,800 Covid 19 Support Grant which was administered by the South Kesteven District Council. The preschool also claimed furlough funding during this period. With these funds the Preschool is confident that it can operate for the 2021/22 academic year.

In common with such organisations the financial position is constantly monitored and forecasts of budgets reviewed regularly, as such the trustees consider the financial position to be satisfactory and no changes to the present position are anticipated within the foreseeable future. The trustees are constantly reviewing the Reserves Policy.

The trustees aim to hold reserves to enable us to meet any unforeseen expenditure that may occur and also to ensure that we can meet our statutory liabilities.

At the 31 August 2021 we held cash reserves of £7,466.
