When we look at the work of Hands outstretched over the pasted year we can see that our work was in several places from Botswana, Kenya and Sri Lanka. Our main thrust of our work over this pasted year has been in Kenya where we were able to help a village to build and extend an all ready built building to help feed children in the the west of Kenya. With the help of the local people and the church we were able to but supplies and put up a temporary structure which was to house cooking equipment that are used for the feeding of the local children. We were also able to have time with the children telling them stories and encouraging them in the christian way of life.
Another group of individuals came to see me in my hotel and told of the plight of their village and how they had a church with many children who were in state school but were not able to pay the school fees. We were approached to see if we were able to do anything .As we in the west value our education and the fact that it is free for all we may not be aware that in some countries for normal senior school fees have to be paid. After some prayer we decided to help them with some of the fees as we thought that to have an education is a very valuable thing.
Another group of people attended a church, and there were about 100 people in the congregation, but they only had 3 Bibles for the whole church. A request was made that we should supply them some bibles so we did.
whilst in Kenya we were able to preach in many of churches in the districts that we worked in this was a great privilege as we donโt speak Swahili the languages of these people.
Sri Lanka
This is a place that I was supposed to visit to help a charity that im a trustee of over there that help children who are in need. Although I was not able to go Im still in contact with a clique there. To help her with her work with the children in Sri Lanka Sandy asked if we were able to get a keyboard and send it to them so that they could enjoy music in their sessions. As i did not travel there I obtained a keyboard from my music supplier and sent it by my shipping agent. When it arrived they were so happy as it was far more than they thought they would receive this was such a blessing to them.
Botswana
This was really a mercy call that was sent to me as from one of my chefs in the uk .His wife had gone back home to help her daughter out when she, the wife, fell ill and died leaving a great problem. What could be done to help? as my chef was a volunteer an had no funds help was needed to help to bury the wife . When we was asked to help of course we did yes it was a bit different to the normal things we do but there was a need and a remedy was in our hands to give so we did.
Our work over the years has been to many differing people with many different needs but all have needed help and so with the Love of Christ we have set out to enable others to stand in some very difficult circumstances .
We will continue to do our work in as many different places as we feel God calls us and for as long as we can so please prayer for us and if you can why not give and help someone in need.
God bless Graham George
