Prior to April 2011 th¢ CoTnpany w&% being finan¢ed under 4 Funding Agrttment benveen the Compally￿ Essex County
Council (ECC) and Castle Point Borough Council (CPBC). Thi5 Agreement expired on 3 1st MaT¢h 2011 and was not
renewed by ECC and CPBC. In August 2011 the Company was fortunat¢ enough to b¢ awaTd¢d a fiv¢ yejr funding grat)t
of up to £359,518 by The Big Lottery Fund (BLF) and. in 2016. a further five year grnnt totslling £348.334. Additional
fimding ill the forni of subsLYiption fees. donations and fees fiff the use of Company vehicles by clubs and others
ODStitut¢s an iTnportant revenue 50Urte.

or lack of available public transport services.

on an ad-hoc basis for either minibuses or mobility caT5.
Adam is contracted for 34 hours per week ov¢r 4 days WHI Alan mul￿)￿ and Lklla Jarvis are COntr￿ted on a "zero
hours" basi5.
ACHIEVEMEiYf AND PERFORMANCE
Car Scberne
During the year under review the voluntrer car scheme and mobility drivers completed 14,981 journeys (2022.. 12,008)
cayrying 17.619 clients (2022.. 13,867) 8 iotal of 96,490 miles. The car scheme membership increased ov¢r the year to
1.095. The S¢h¢m¢'s growth eontinued to rttover in this period with the relaxation of Governm¢nt restrictions. Since
funding from the BLF comm¢nce¢l car stheme ¢li¢nl numbEr5 have risen from 533 to 1.095 at 3 1st Ma￿h 2023. giving
an overall increase of 562 over th¢ 10 y¢aTS of fi]nding.

The Directors have submitted ￿ application for a further 5-year grant of £201.935 from the Big b)ttery Community
FuDd and, ftillowing initlal CODsultstA￿￿ are hopeful that this will be grartted. This will enable the Directors lo build
upon and elllarge the Cornmunity TT8nSP)rt schemes. Car scbeme clieni membership has tncreased from 533 to 1095

provide ￿41¢r support to th¢ m¢mE*r5 of th¢ ¢omrnunity, who still aff¢¢t¢d ¢Ji5proportionally by both the pandcmie
itself aDd the longer teTm effects of the restrictions previously imposed by the Government. We will continu¢ lo provide
tr4n5PQrt h¢ilili¢s for the elderly, maintsining OUT core s¢rvic¢ of l¢)¢ai joum¢y5, whilst a]so Wntinuing to und¢rtak¢
longer journeys* for both individuals and groups in relation to social outings and holidays. The overall objective of
r¢du¢ing isolation and improvitig th¢ phy8i¢a] and m¢nthl w¢ll-b¢ing of the ¢ld¢rly r¢tiwins O COrn¢TSts)n¢ of our project.
