TRUSTEES. REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2026
Rovlew of 202>2026
Paperworks continues to provide an excellent service to adults wih physical and learning disabilities, autism and
mental health i55ues.
Trdln¢es
The demand for our services is higher than ever, with referrals from a variety of sources including colleges, adult
social care, GP'S, families, occupational therapy and other cliniaans. Our reputation is very high, and we are
being referTed cases ￿lch other5 are finding drfficult lo support. This requires additional training for staff and
has also increased the number of safeguarding concems. However. our support for all trainees remains of a high
level and evidence shows trainees are thriving and developing.
This year we extended our target of trainee numbers from 25 to 27 per day and we have achieved this with
healthy wailing list every day. We are now fvll to our ￿eal capacty. To increase slightly further is possible,
however this may lead lo addrtional behavioural Issues, a cramped working enwronmenl and we would need lo
obtain a much higher level of commercial work for the Irair￿S to complete. ¥thich has been a struggle for the
last couple of years.
Comm•rclal Work
With this Increased number of trainees, we also need to increase the level of commercial work. Thi$ year has
been difficutt as companies lake more work in house as costs increase and we are also eompets'ng wth a
seamless service from design lo c￿allOn from China and othec low cost economies. As a result of this we had
to reslruclure the commercial side of the organisation lo be fft for purpose and lo rethink how we market
ourselves and what kind of customers we need to target. We have also made some changes to our shredding
system and reviewed the commercial clients do have for viability 50 can free up storage space for the
fvlure.. However. our trainees have been kept busy with a good range of work from existing clients as well ay
regular shredding work and one of mailing thork.
Own Brand
Last year we 5tsrted the development of our first Papery￿rkS branded gift box- a Christmas box- ond alon9side
this we registered the trademark of 'A Little Bird Told Me, and developed a basic website which we have
developed further this year. Wrth ftjnding from CABWI lo support stsffing, we were able lo develop another box
th a view lo being ready lo launch next year. Trainee$ were al the heart of this from conception lo research
and desi9n and this is an ongoing project.
Data Managoment
This year has ¢onlinued lo see a Iransfomation in our data ¢olle¢lion and storage systems. We had external
support to scope, design and create a system Calkd CODA vthich enabled us lo gather and report on all trainee,
production and shredding infomation in one database instead of this being in different types of documents with
minimal reporting capabilities. We were also able to add more technology to trainees by digitalising the drinks
list. These changes have saved time by automating processes such a5 commercial billing infomiation, increased
visibility and tran5paren¢y of trainee d8la, and mean5 can ￿port and add on as the need arises.
30th Blrthday
At the end of last year we had our 30th birthday and in May we conlinued this celebration with a circus themed
dinner with performances. dinner and dancing. This was a night trainees wll not forget and was sUPPOrted
generously by donations which enabled us lo add extra5 Such as live circus perfomances. Al the end of the year
we pul on another Panto themed around Papewwotks casue and the story of Paperworks over the years. Thig
was well attended and received.

Additional funding from the Household Support Grant enableil us lo prowde 3 cookery book designed and lesled
