ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE TrTAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2022 Ob tlves an etlvltl Achievements #nd Perforniatt¢e Review of Activities The Trustees have c4)nsidered the Charity Commissioner's guidance on public benefit and are happy that tbis is being achievcd through the funding of work to preserve and maintain the County's historic churches and chapels for the enjoym¢nt of w(thippers and the many who appreciate our rich heritsge of ¢¢clesi&sti¢al buildings. Th¢ Friend5 of Wiltshire Churches was crnt¢d over a decade ago with members paying an atmual fee of £20 (individual) or £30 (couple). A ¢oryrate mcmbership was subsequently introduced &t a f¢e of £l(Kl per allnum. Membership provides the opporti]Dity to help cnsure the future of wiltsh1'S ht8toric chUh¢S and Chapels and share in the ecclesi&stical herits8e of the county. In retu the members receive a gazetteer of churches and chapels. mailings about"Friends" ¢vcnts, including lectures and ¢xcur8ions. and are sent a copy of the annual rert and newsletter. Income from membership fees (£10.961) plus Gift Aid (£2.474) totaled £13.435 (2021.. £16,795). The Covid 19 Pandemic hit the county in March 2020. During this financial year, there continued to be rcstrictions on events and uncertainty with lockdowns imposed by Gov¢nunent which has impacted activities. "Friends- held a Winter Ltre that raised £705 and the stponed summer paTty income was £2,885. Thc Ride & Stride went ahead this year and raised £41.999 ildIng Gift Aid and donations. Book sale8 totsjd £287. The prlnting and sales of Christmas cards made a profit of £824 The Trustees continue to encourage donations from Churches that have benefitted from grants and this year £2,965 was Sralefvlly received. Personal donation8 and co1rate donatiottl were ellv tota]ing £l1.136 The Trust is, 85 always heavily dependent on the efforts of its honorary officers and volunteer SUPIKSrters. including the d¢anery representatives. who play active part in both fidraiSing and mana8em¢nt.
