The trustees havg adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting ond Reporting by Charitios. (FRS102) in preparing the annual report and financial Statements of the charity. structure. governance and managoment The Trefoil Guild is a registered charity constltuted under a Royal Charter dated 14 December 1922 and operoteg under a constitutlon which was last updated in June 2023. The Trefoil Guild was registered as a Charity on 23 April1999. The Trefoil Guild is a branch ol The Guide Association but maintains a separate identity. It is Independently udministgred and 18 tinancially self-supporting. It is organised at national level by committees of volunteers who meat regulorly throughout the year. All major decisions and all the activities of this organisation are conducted by volunteers apart from off ice administsation tasks covered by four members of staff. The board of trustees Is the governing body of The Trefoil Guild where all majoT policy decisions on strategy are made. The boord of trustees Is supported by 2 sub-committees, the finance ond g&neral purposes committee and the operational committee. The finance and general purposès committee progresses policies and procedures and considers oll finuncial matters In the flrst instance including the annual budget before bringing proposals and recommendations to the board of trustees for decisK)n making and approval. In a similar way the operational commltte8 aims to support th& board in the delivery of the strategic prioTlties and national initiotives. In accordance with the Royal Charter and Bye-Laws of Thè Guide Association, The Trefoil Guild is controlled and managed by means of a constitution lor The Trefoll Gulld. Appointment and induction of trustees The boord of trustees is mude up of the national chair, the deputy (if appointed). the chairs of the countries and regions, the treasurer, the chair of the finance and genèral purposes committee and the national advisers. The president and the chief guide may ottend as non-voting members. The training and induction of new trustees is the responsibility of the notional chair and the deputy (if appoir)ted) and covers the duties described by the Charity Commission as well as the roles and responsibilities which arg spècific to the Trefoil Guild. Risk management The trustees have considered the rlsks to which the chority is exposed and have completed a formal evoluation of these. The trustees are supported by the fin(Jnce and general purposes committee who regularly review and assess the key risks, and systems and procedures are established to mitigate and manoge them. The administration of The Trefoil Guild throughout the United Kingdom, which includes the Tretoil Guild in Foreign Countries is vested in the board of trustees of The Trefoil Guild. Regulation is by the trustees. The board of trustees is empowered to.. The chorlty invites all members of the public tojoin as long as they are at least 18 years of oge. Our members support the public., for example, by working with local Girlguiding and Scouting groups in the UK and overseas and supporting local and national charities both financially and wlth their time. The charity engaged with tho wider membership ot their national conference to rgview its current priorities and agsess the changes required to take the charity through to 2029. Achi•vements and p&rformonce The Trefoil Guild Continues to develop and enhance its programme and opportunities to enable all membors to havg a positive and meaningful experience. Led by the board ol trustees, it is supported by thè finonce and generol purposes commStte& ar)d the operational committee. During 2025 there have been Several changès to th& board, as trust998 came to the end of their term of office, giving the board some chall8nges but olso opportunities for development and change. In all 5 new trustees joined the board. Our charity's objectives of supporting Girlguiding, Scouting and the community have continued with many of our members b8ing actively involved as190ders or supporting on an ad hoc basis. Throughout rrefoil Guild members work with their communities os well as supporting local and national charities. At th& 2025 Annual Meeting the Trefoil Gulld supported a local Belfast charity as part of the overall meetlng objectives. Trefoil Gulld plays an octive role in supporting now Girlguiding units by providing Starter Pocks. Additlonal financial support to new units has continugd throughout 2025 due to thg profit made from the salg of the 80th annlversary challenge badgès which wont to this worthy causg. The Trefoil GLJlld offers grants which arg ovallable to our mgmbers, their carers and Girlguiding volunteers, with additional financiol support to those travelllng overseas on projocts or to attend conferences. Communlcation Trefoil Guild continues to produce 4 issues ot The Trefoil magazine a year, which is circulatgd to all members giving news, storiès, and key updates. M8mbgrs arè also issued a highlight roport following aach boord meeting focusing on any key issues, cascad8d through the country and region chairs. Our websit8 gives our membors and the wider public an insight to Trefoil Guild activities and all that we do. The wèbsite is also o m(Jlor means of sharing policies and procedures and gives eoch country and region a portul to share their local activities, events, and news. Trafoil does enjoy havlng membeTS coverlng the full age spectrum from18 to over100 years. Thanks and rècognltlon The Trefoil Guild knows how important It is to thank its members for whot they do. The Thanks and Recognitior) badge and certificate r&moins a popular way of doing so. For outstonding servlce to Trefoil, th8 speciul Silver Trefoil aword (formerw the Silver Brooch) is ovailable and has been presented to two members this year, Following review, however, It was identified thot there was a need for an additional award specllically torgeted at our members. Thls has been developed and will b& launched in January 2026. This will complement the existing Silver Trefoil (Jward. Do￿loP our key messages: flnd Irlend$hlp. got activel got involved and giv& support Trefoil Guild members find friendship in all they do but the following programme activities mean that membgrs ore getting ir)volved and 9iving support in communitigs both at home and abroad. Almost 100 members found friendship and got activ& in the bgoutiful Stalfordshire Peak District on our biannual walking holiday. The weoth6r wasn't kind, but mombers werg not put off and providgd support ond encouragement, and with true community spiriL a lot of lun was had by all attending. Our TOPAZ (Trefoil Overseas Partngrship Adventure with Zest) programmg continued in 2025 with a teom travelling to undertake community and Girlguiding projects in Lgsotho. A team has olso been wo¥king on a Thailond project which will take place in January 2026. Trefoil ware mindful thot not all members can loin a TOPAZ project and health, finances and security concerns can make travelling difficult. To giv& oll mombers an international experience we launched International (Jt home. A chance to 8xplore another country without leaving your own, choosing a destlnation, reseorching its cutture. food, and traditlons. and sharing your discoveries with others. We relaunch8d our STARS challenge, which h8lps guilds to create varied, interesting, inclusive, and meoningful progrommes and to help retain and attract members. There org badges for thefive themes which together form a stor. The relaunch was so successful that new stock had to be purchased to meet member demand. Our other challenges such as Motivata tocusing on members setting their own goals across land, sea, and air, promoting friendship and lun while challenging themselves to st&p outside their comfort zong. Treloil's Voyage aword, which is the ultimat8 personal chollenge, incorporates 5 different areas (service, myself, tgamwork, skills, and explore my world) and continues to be extremely popular with 325 m&mbers starting theirjourney in 2025 alone. Of those completinglgvels, 92 members achieved their Bronze award, 41 their Silver ond 52 members ottain8d the highest award ol Gold. Page 5

The Trefoil Guild organised three events dLJrlng 2025., th8 Annual Meeting held in Belfost, the National Conference and the walking hollday. The Trefoil Gulld benefited from a grant of £39,700 from the Belfcjst ond Northarn Ireland Conference Support Schemè and was fortunate to receive a large bequest from a former member. As a result the total income for the yeor increased by SOY. to £543,513 (2024- £337,636) and total expenses increased by 2gy. to £475,156 (2024- 2367,886). The volue of our invegtments increased during the yeor by £33,068 (2024 - £14,411),. resulting in net increase in totol funds of £101,425 compaTed to a deficit of £15,839 in the previous year. At 31 December 2025, the ch(Jrltyls Ir&e reserves (l.&. unrestrlcted funds excluding tangible fixed assets) totalled £629,922 (2024.. £53g,900) with £38,517 (2024.. £36,587) designated lor specific purposes 0$ set out in the notes to the accounts. Thg Trefoil Guild's investments were valued at £517,864 (2024.. £489,512) at the balunce sheet date and formed part ol the net assets of each fund os follows: The Unrestricted Fund ot £254,944 (2024.. £334,422), th& Support Development and Rell8f (SDR) Fund at £12,673 (2024= £11,944), thg Hollday Fund at £87,439 (2024.. £83,306) and the 8ursory Fund at £62,808 (2024: £59,840). Grants from the restricted and designat8d funds havg been made when requested. The Holiday Fund, the Bursary Fund and the SDR Fund all remain in a healthy state. Invo6tm?nt pollcy The trustees oim to achieve both income and growth from their Investments, while maintaining a low risk strategy. Professional advisers and fund munagers are employed to manage the funds and their performanc8 is regularly reviewed by the finance and g8n8ral purposes committee. Reserv¢s pollcy The trustees consider that the gÈn2rul reserve should be maintained at between on8 and two year's running costs with a contingency for emergency or unforeseen costs.
