structure, governance and management
The organisation is a charitable company limited by guarantee. incorporated on 2nd June
1997 and registered as a charity on 21st April 1999. The company was established under
a Memorandum of Association which established the objects and powers of the charitable
company and is govemed under the Articles of Association. In th8 event of th8 company
being wound up members are required to contribute £1 only.
Recruitment & appolntment of Trusteès
The directors of the company are also ¢harity trustees for the purposes of charity law and
under the companys Articles are known as Members of the Management Committee.
There are no formal rules within our Memorandum or Articles for the rotation of Trustees.
Trustees normally stand for re-election at the AGM and any vacant positions may be filled
by COwOPtion throughout the year.
Due to the level of contact with vulnerable groups and the fiduciary duty of Trustees we
ask that new Trustees, as with new staff, agree to a DBS check.
Trustee Inductlon & tralnlng
New Trustees are invited to attend a short induction training session following the AGM
or al other appropriate limes throughout the year. This is usually led by the Chair of the
Management Committee and the new Trustees are given an induction pack to include..

The latest published accounts
In addition to this, any appropriate training is identified throughout the year and Trustees
are encouraged to attend.
Risk management
The Trust has established 3 sub groups to report lo the full Management Board on the key
issues of Human Resources, Finances and Policy and Planning. In sach of these areas
risks are reviewed and policies set in place to minimise those risks. Risk assessments
are carried out of any event or new activity undertaken.
Organisatlonal structure
The Trust has a Management Committee of up to 15 Members who meet al least monthly
and are responsible for the strategic direction and policy of the charity. At present the
committee has 6 members as Ftemised on page 1.

The objective of the Trust is to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the
residents of the Parish of Kiveton Park and Wales. A number of projects. activities and
enterprise lake place in furtherance of this:
Community enterprise development
Sporting activities
IT education and training
Social Prescribing
Lunch clubs for the elderly
Community newsletter production and distribution
Consultation and support for community groups
Liaison on behalf of the community with key agencies e.g. The Land Trust and
Sheffield City Region.
Achlevements and perforniance
2021-22 has been another difficult year as the slow recover from Covid continues. Our
Social Prescribing initialive is slovAy beginning io build back capacity with various
initiatives such as the Walking group and a new coffee moming. The weekly lunch group
continues but it is a slow recovery. Our Sports Park on the other hand is now back to full
capacity and funclioning well.
Flnanclal position
Thè financial statem8nts are set out in pages 9 to 18.
The total funds at the year*nd stand at £624,404 (2021: £598.415). Funds consist of
fixed assels to the value of £419,244 {2021: £427,785), balances remaining on restricted
funding of £44,921 (2021: £43,290) and a general reserve of £165,483 (2021: £132,125).

Flnancial position ¢ontinuad
The Trust is in a position to cover all core njnning costs secured from social enterprise. Th8
Sports facility is fully booked evenings and weekends for the next 12 months
Funding r8C8ived from Yorkshire & Humb8r Lottery has secured the extra hours of the Social
Prescribing Officers for the remainder of this financial year.
Prlnclpal fundlng sources
The Trust is financialty self-sustained from eamed income for core a¢tiviti9s. Funding is applied
for, as appropriate for specific projects and initiatives. This financial year we have had funding
from Yorkshire & Humber Lottery.
Investment Policy
Although the Trust is moving towards a more secure financial postiion w8 arè stlll not al the
stage of having funds to invest.
Reserves policy
11 is the Trust's policy to relain be￿een 3 and 6 months running costs in resèrve. This
would be to cover any staff redundancies and wrnd down costs in the event of th8 closur8
of thè of the charity.
At the end of 31 March 2022. the gèneral reserve excluding investrnenls in fixed
assets stands at £160.239 {2021.. £127.540). ReseNes have increased once again this year
this is due to the incr8ase in Sports Park Income and Room hire.
Plans for future perlods
We will be looking to expand and extend our successful Social Prescribing Hub taking referrals
from Ihe Primary Care Trust via VAR.
We will be using grant aided funding to utilise our sports facility to offer more sport base
activities particularly for young people, schools, wom8n and girls.
Publlc Benefll SLiloment
In planning our activities in the year we kept in mind the Charity Commissions guidance
on public benefil.
The main focus of the Charity is to enhance life in the community through recreational
and leisure time activities. Also to provide certain services for the community al a
minimal cost to them. The beneficiaries cover a wde spectrum from infants to senior
citizens.

Exemptions
The trustees have taken advantage of the exemptions available to small companies.
including the audit exemption.
Statement of trustee's responslbilltles
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial
year, which give a true and fair view of the statement of affairs of the charity at the end
of the year and of surplus or deficiency for the year then ended. In preparing those
financial statements, the trustees are required to: Select suitable accounting policies
and then apply them on a consistent basis, making judgements and estimates that are
prudent and reasonable. The trustees must also prepare the financial statements on the
going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue
in business.
The trustees a￿ responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with
reasonable accuracy al any time, the financial position of the charity. and enable them to
ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. The truste8S
are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking
reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.

companies under Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

As the charitls trustees of the Company {and also its directors for the purtK)ses of

thé requirements of the Companies Acl 2006 ('the 2006 ACV).
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited
under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in
respect of my examination of your charitys accounts as carried out under section 145 of
the Charities Act 20111'the 2011 ACVI. In carying out my examination I have followed the
Directions given by the Charity Commlssion under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act.

1 Accounting policies
Basls of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and
Reporting by Charities - Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo
charities preparing their accounts in accordance wtlh the Financial Reporting Standard
applicablg in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) {effeclive from
1 January 2019) - (Charities SORP {FRS102)) and the Compani8s Act 2006.
Kivelon Park & Wales Development Trust meets the dèfinition of a public benefit entity
under FRS102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or
transaction value, unless otherwise ststed in the relevant accounting policy note(sl.
Going Concern Note
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concem basis. The trustees
have considered the level of funds held and the expected lev81 of income and
expenditure for the 12 months following the aulhorising of these financial stat8m8nts
and consider the going concern basis appropriate.
Incomlng Rosoure•s
All ma18rial incoming resources have been induded in the Statement of Financial
Activities when the ¢harity is entitled to the income. vthen any performance conditions
attached are met. when il is probable that the income will be received and vthen the
amount can be measurèd reliably.
No amount is included in the financial statements for volunteer time in line with the
SORP IFRS102).
Income from rents is accounted for during the period to vthich the room or office was
hired.
Grant income is deferred if the period the monies relate to is specified or indicated by the
funder.
Fund Accounllng
Incoming resources that may be applied for the charities general purpos8s are treated as
unrestricted incoming resources and are credited to the unrestricted funds. Where a
donation or grant is required lo be used for a specific purpose. the amount concerned
is treated as restricted income and is credited to the appropriate reslricted fund.
The donation reserve is made up of the net book value of the Old Colliery Officés
which was donated to the charity back in 2013 and re-valued in 2017.

Resources Expended
All expenditure is included on an accruals basis and has been classified under
headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Expenditure is recognised
where there is a legal or Gonstructive obligation to make payments to third parties, it is
probable that the settlement will be required and the amount of the obligation can be
measured reliably.
Charitable activities include expenditure on resources applied by the charity in
undertaking work to meet its charitable objecttV8s. This indudes both the direct costs
and support costs relating to these activities.

Depreciation is calculated to write down the cost or valuation, less estimated residual
value, of all tangible fixed assets over their expected useful lives on the followng basis..

Support costs are those that assist the work of Ihe charity but do not directly represent

Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and re￿1vable or payable withir) one
year are recorded al transaction price. Any losses arising from impaimenl are

Provisions are recognised when the charity has an obligation at the balance sheet dale
as a resutt of a past event. it is probable that an oufflow of economic benefit will be
required in settlement and Ihe amount can be reliably measured.
Penslon costs and other POst￿et1rÈrnent benefits
The charity operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Pension costs
harged to the Statement of Financial Activities represent the contributions payable
by the charity in the year.
Tax
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on income from its charitable activities.

Kiveton and suffounding areas.
Groundwork - Go out and get Active provides community activiiies available to
all in an outdoor spac8.
The Yorkshire and Humber Big Lottery grant was provided towards staff cost and
general running expenses towards the Social Prescribing Service.
VAR - People in Need funding reoived to provide food and toys for Iwo families over
the Christmas and New Year period
NHS Rotherham CCG - Grant received for new social groups to h8lp people struggling
with thèir m8ntal health, social isolalion and general wellbeing.
Power to Change, Community Fund - funding received for Covid-19 emergency trading
income support scheme.
Power to Change, Business development- funding received for business development
support including growth of seNi¢es and specialist advice.
The National Lottery Community Fund - to develop a local food project 'Kivo Pantrf to
glve people both dignity and choice wthout stigma.
RM8C Ward Grant - Funding given for Christmas Paty and Wreath making workshop

12 Related Party Transactions
The Trust has one director who also represents the Parish Council, this is not
considered to be a conflict.
The Trust continues to receive a grant from the Social Prescribing service which is a
project within Voluntary Action Rotherham from where the Community Ac￿untan¢Y
service operates. This is not considered to be a conflict of interest due to the
reporting lines in place with VAR. The grant received within the year was £8000.
One trustee is also director for the Irading company Kiveton Creative the profits
from this company are donated to th8 Charity.

During the perod, the cost of the independent examination and accountsncy services
was £1,075 (2021- £1,150.)

The charity had ￿ subsidiary undertakings vA)i¢h are both limited by guarantee
and therefore have no share capital. The surplusldeficit shown are prior to the
donation to the charity. On 10 February 2022 Kivo Ebiz Ltd amended its
governing document and is no londer a subsidiary undertaking any surplus will
now be retained by the organisation.
