Legal Status
The charity is registered the Charity Commission, registration number 1075129.
It was forned as an unincorporated association under a constitution adopted on
19th March 1997 (later amended in 1999 and 2004).
Objocts
The objects of the charity are..
1. To educate families and the public in better stsndards of childcare, and in the
importance of sound relations be￿een parents and children for the maintenance and enrichment of
family life.
2. The relief of poverty and the provision of recreational facilities or other leisure time
occupation in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of lrfe
of persons having need of these facilities by reason of their youth, povety, or social and
economic circumstances.
In planning our programme of actiVFties each year: we have kept in mind the Charity Commission's
general guidan￿ on public benefit and prevention and the relief of povety for public benefit. The
trustees a￿yS ensure that the programme of activities we undertake is in line with our charitable
objectives and aims.
Financial Review
The financial accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025 are set out on pages 4 tt) 8.
The charity has received support from Cambridge Cty Council. Cambridgeshire County Council,
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and Cambridgeshire
Community Foundation, together with a number of other charitable trusts and grant making organisations.
A full list of all grants received and details of expenditure are set out in notes 2 and S of the accounts.
The Trustees are very grateful to all of these benefactors wtthout whose help the project could not continue.

and female suNtvors of domestic abuse throughout this year. We have ￿ntinued to respond to
needs in partnership with our benefictaries. and we are very proud of the
Comprehensive package of person cèntered, informed trauma support that VIE offer to women
and families vthich consists ot.

Reserves Pollcy
The Trustees aim to hold reseryes sufficienl to pay at least one month's operating costs so that an ordety
dosure of the project c￿Uld be achteved should this be n￿sSary.
As at 31 March 2025 ve held a balance of £18,073 in unrestricted reserves, equNalent to around
6 weeks of general running costs.
Looklng to the Future
Funding for the year to 31 March 2026 has been substantialty secured ￿ funding from Cambridge Cty
Council, the Police & Crime Commissioner. Cambridgeshire Communty Foundalion, Ann Dob%tra
and many others helping to ensure the continuance of the ￿￿rk.

I report on the accounts of the Meadows Chiklren and Famity Wing for the year ended 31 March
2025 which are set out on pages 4 to 8.
RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charitys trustees
consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011
(the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to..
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Ac(
- to follow the procedures taid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission
(under section 145{5){b) of the Charities Act. and
- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charty and
a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any
unusual ttems or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as the trustees
contsrning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that VKJuld
be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a
"true and fair viev/' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the ststement below:
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT
In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention
which gives me cause to believe that in, any material ￿spect.
- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act or
- the accounts do not accord with the accounts'ng records
I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attentton should be
drawn in order to enable a proper understsnding of the accounts to be reached.
