CATHOLIC FELLOWSHIP FOR THE DISABLED – GREENWICH DEANERY

The Greenwich Catholic Fellowship for the Disabled was set up about 45 years ago to help support the families of disabled children by offering a weeklong holiday for their children to the Marian shrine at Lourdes in the south of France. Over the years it has progressed to include adults. The aim is to provide some respite for our guests and also for their families at home.

We fund raise all year round by having dances, quizzes, raffles, jumble sales and receiving donations. The outcome of the fundraising enables the charity to take a group of about 40 people to Lourdes each year. Our efforts enable us to subside on the cost for each person irrespective of them being helpers or guests.

Our aim is to give our guests and indeed our helpers too, a very enjoyable week away, living together as a family, embracing the spiritual atmosphere if they wish too, and hopefully making lifelong friends along the way.
