## **Chairman’s Report 2023**

Firstly, I want to begin with a thank you to all the coaches, helpers and acve commiee members, without whom the club could not survive. Their hard work and dedicaon during the year has enabled us to deliver and maintain our commitment to training in these post Covid mes.

## **Membership**

2023 has seen our membership numbers decrease slightly, we currently have 195 live member accounts, 86 are Nippers, 58 Masters, 45 Juniors and 26 Seniors. The reducon in numbers is across the Junior, Senior, Masters secon with the Nippers showing a healthy increase. Work needs to be done to increase the Senior numbers. This decrease in numbers has put a slight dent in our current financial situaon but when combined with our Gi Aid rebate gives us a posive revenue posion.

## **Qualificaon’s 2023**

The club has supplied training and facilitated NVBLQ examinaons with further examinaons scheduled towards the tail end of the year, 7 members already gaining the qualificaon. There has also been an increase in the numbers of Level 1 and Level 2 awards again with many more projected to be taken in September/October.

As a club we are proud that we connue to train so many excellent young people in the skills required to apply to become RNLI Lifeguards.

## **Patrols**

Mumbles members are now patrolling Llangennith Beach in conjuncon with Langland Bay Lifeguards as volunteers, providing a valuable service on a beach that has no RLNI presence.

## **Fund Raising**

We are currently running at a neutral revenue posion, as such if the club wants to invest in new equipment addional funding will be required. As with any club; fundraising is always an issue. If anyone has any contacts, special skills or ideas please speak to a commiee member.

In 2023 we have aempted to achieve a balanced approach and hopefully as a commiee delivered what the members want, if we didn’t please let us know. As always we are here to act on your behalf and as such encourage all members (irrespecve of age) to voice their opinions or stand for elecon to sit on the commiee.

Once again thank you for your support and commitment in 2023.

Jon Gwynn Chairman
