Income is appli¢d iu Ihc mainlenance and support ofihe Mill which is owned and run by the charity.

The Iruslccs have paid due regard lo guidance i8sucd by the Charily Commission in deciding whal aclivilies the charily
should undertake.
Achlevements and performAn¢e
It's been another challenging year for Ihe Trust bul Ihanks lo Trusiees and volunteers we have managed lo delivery greal
services lo our community.
The income for Ihe year was £51,801 (2023 £40,458). Expenditure on charitable A¢livities in Ihe year amounted lo
£56,312 (2023 £55,962).
The eharily has a wholly owned subsidiary The Mill Bar Company Limited which operates a bar fmm Ihc Mill lo generate
additional nel income. In 2024 the company generated a profil of £4.532 (2023 £2,752). Taxable profits generated by Ihe
subsidiary are donated to the Charity in the subsequenl year.
While the Iruslees have Ihe power to make inveslmenls as they see fil, they have mainlained the investment programme
advised by Ihe Charity Commission.
Flnonclal revlew
The Trust udjusled lo a number of changes in Truslees and conlinued io review all ¢onlra¢ts and ￿leW all areas of the
charity to ensure Comme￿181 viability of each individual area of the charily.
Unrestricted funds arise from income received from the Hempnall chU￿h and Town Eslale Property Charily and from the
investment of surplus income to augment unreslricled funds. These are surricienl lo meet current demands on the charity.
The charily has had lo sell assets from its inveslmenls in the last two year5 to ensure that all current demands can be mel.
however the Iruslees are working to ensure that this doesn't need lo happen annually.
It is the policy olihe charity lo mainlain free reserves, which compri5C the nel CUTrenl assets, at a level suifictent lo mcel any
major expenditure on the ageing Mill building. Free reserves at 31 December 2024 were £9,519 (2023 - £6,660).
The Irusltts have assessed the major risks lo which Ihe charity is exposed. and are satlsfied that 5yslems are in place lo
mitigale exposure to Ihe major risks.

The Trustees have secured a £2,500 grdnl from Hempnall Parish Council which has been received in 2025. The grant is lo
assist with the costs of renovaling Ihe kitchen at the Mill.
Strueture. governance and management
The Hcmpnall Trust (Hctnpnall) was consliluled by a Charily Commission Sch¢m¢ on 23 Febrnary 1917 varied by Ihe
hemes on 4 March 1963 and 16 FebNary 1978 and order dated 24 May 2006. as amended 4 Sepleniber 2008. and is a
regislercd Charity no. 1074433. For reasons of admini51rativc convcnicn¢c. accounts are drawn up annually to 31 D￿ernber.
The order of 4 Scplcmber 2008 changed the charity's name from The Town Eslalc Poor Charity (Hempnall) to The Hempnall
Trust.
