Riding for the Disabled Rossington Hall Group Charity 1074139 Chairman's Report 2023-2024 At the end of myfirstyear in the role, I have the pleasure of presentingthe Chairman's Reportfor Riding forthe Disabled, Rossington Hall Group, Doncaster. for the year 2023- 2024. Overthe past year we have continued to thrive, providing accessible riding and horse care Lessons to individuals with special needs, both adults and children, duringthe day and evenings. We enabLe a greater proportion of the local communities to experience the physical and mental benefits of being around horses whilst they Learn new skiLls and make newfriends. It's not only the clients that benefit. Specialthanks must go to our dedicated team of coaches and volunteers who also get great pleasure from assisting at sessions and providing daily care for our horses and ponies. and maintaining the field hygiene, whatever the weather. What wouLd we do without them? This yearwe have been able to make a few improvements to our faciLities with the help of our supporters. Craig continues to amaze with his handy man skills by producing a new contained poo heap in one of the fields, fixing Perspex sheets to the gallery area to keep the noise, wind and rain away as welL as the routine day to day repairs. Mud mats were laid to improve ground conditions with funding from Retford Innerwheel and the Mud Mat Appeal. We have purchased a new horse, bringing our total to eight. Our Open Day gives the opportunity for individuals who adopt our horses and ponies to meet their chosen equine. We wouLd not be able to continue to provide our service withoutthe on-going support of ourfamilies, locaL businesses, groups, and organisations. Some activities have become annual events. Thankyou to alLthose who attend our FamiLy Fun Dog Show, a little less intense than Crufts but equally as competitive. We are always made to feel very welcome atthe GolfTournament at Doncaster GoLf Club, with the Group's Trustees providing refreshments at the Halfway House. We do try to put a team forward at Quiz Nights arranged bythe local Doncaster Rotary Clubs. Although, this can involve a little gentle persuasion. untilthe excellent pie and peas supper is mentioned. The Swimathon organised by Retford Rotary Club takes place in March to which we send a team of ourvery best swimmers and Torne VaLley continues to support us with hay and equine related products. We always include a note of thanks to supporters in our Newsletters around the time of their donation. I couLdn't possibly mention everyone in this report. The r8ffles, Christmasjumper competition entrants and purchasers of calendars are all as valuable to us. Whether your donation is pennies or pounds we are incredibly grateful forall the support we receive. Thank you to all the Trustees, Ann the Treasurer, Sharon the Secretary, and finalLy, just in case we do let her retire in the nextyear, a huge thankyou to Mary for herfamed Carrot Fund, and for organising a live music evening at Fishlake which was enjoyed by all who attended.
