The MSA primarily exists to raise funds to help provide goods and services to support the children of Marpool Primary School with their education.
I would like to say thank you and well done to everyone for your continued support of the MSA throughout this year. I’d personally like to thank not only the wonderful committee members but also all the parents who donate, come to events or offered additional support. As always special thanks goes to Denise, for your ongoing incredible work and dedication year after year. You are the backbone of the MSA and your hard work and dedication is much appreciated, not only by us the committee members but Marpool and its children. We say thanks to Sally Hayes and Sadie Sari who have both stepped down from the committee this year, your hard work and support has been invaluable, and we hope to continue to see you at future events. New members at the start of this year were Stephanie Murray, Emma Weaver, and Tracy Rodgers we hope your first year has been enjoyable and we look forward to your support this coming year.
This was the first year, following Covid, where we have managed to complete all of our planning events without cancelation. Events organised this year were Tee off the term, bingo, jumble sale, Bag2School, Christmas Draw, Christmas Fayre, book bring and buy sale, Family Fun Night, Summer draw, fairy cake sales, our second-hand uniform sales, other refreshment sales, and Easyfundraising. Our focus this past year was to raise money but also to provide families with fun and low-cost family entertainment.
As you know our fundraising has enabled us to purchase some wonderful items and experiences for the school including outdoor play items, library books, 3 read book prizes, a portable Bluetooth speaker, funding for the Spanish day and the Marp Jam music festival. As well as a commitment to provide funding to our school community, smart camera, sports day 2023, mindfulness / yoga practitioner and the new resources building. We hope to purchase more wonderful items and experiences for our children this coming year. All of our events help to support the school with enrichment and enhancements to the children’s experience at school.
Overall, the MSA remains extremely committed to Marpool Primary School and its pupils. Future events have been scheduled but these cannot be held without the ongoing support of committed MSA members. We must promote the MSA to new members, as without them we may not be able to continue with these much-loved events which enhance our children’s lives at school.
Thank you for your continued support.
Paula Harris, Chairperson
