Acting Treasurers Report
The number of members has risen compared to the previous year as we have made a
conscious effort to recruit new members in the form of other family members, due to the
natural fall in the number of evacuee members. The subscription figure has gone up as
some have paid more than a years membership in order to bring everyone up to the same
date, in readiness for closure in September 2025. The amount of donations has Increased
as our members continue to support the Association. They do not want it to close. There
has been a push to reduce stock due to the Imminent closure, and applications for
Certiflcates has also risen due to the time limit of the Association, Draw ticket sales are
reduced due to less members available or purchasin8 them.
The utilities have risen due to the rising cost of electricity and rates, in particularly the cost
of electriclty has increased slgnificantly. There has been a slight increase in the Insurance
Premlum. Prlntln8 and Stationery flgures are reduced due to the less infrequent printing
and distribution of The Evacuee,. General postage costs have rlsen. No merchandise stock
was purchased in the period due to the imminent closure of The British Evacuees
Association concentrating instead on reducing stock levels.
The Chlef Executlves Report
The publlcatlon of Yhe Evacuee, magazlne from bl-monthly to quarterly has been well
received due to It saving postage and printing costs. The members enjoy reading the 16
pa8e ma8azlne when It arrives and there has been no negatlve Issues relating to this.
All members who wish to become a Member of the Board of Trustees are asked via the
newsletter, to write in stating that they wish to stand as a Trustee. If more people apply
than we have places for, they are elected.
Mrs Karen Follows continues to work five days a week in the office at Gringley On The Hlll.
We continue to employ Lynn Johnson, to assist with the compilation of the accounts using
