Achievements and performance
Summary of the maln
achievements of the charity during
the year
h Schools
During Spring 2023 we helped host the mental health and wellbeing
days in Harris C of E Academy. We delivered sports activities, including
'The Cage, programffle across the year groups to prompt good mental
health and wellbeing.
Team members attended the National Focus Day with British Youth for
Christ, looking at the national strategy for the academic year.
Rugby Youth for Christ were invited to host Rugby Free School's annual
summer school for the transitioning year 6 as they begin year 7. This
was a great success, and we have been invited to return in Summer
2024.
Rugby Youth for Christ's mentoring programme recommenced in early
September 2023. Working with 3 of the larger high schools in the town.
Our team worked consistently during the academic year to deliver one
to one mentoring, banking over 1000 hours of mentoring. We
continued with students that needed ongoing support from before the
summer holidays. Cases referred from all three high school (Harris, AVS,
RFSI continued to be complex and involving multi agency collaboration
throughout the academic year.
Our lessons and assemblies recommenced in early September 2023.
There was an increase in lessons booked during this academic year than
in pre-pandemic years.
In October 2023, the team helped plan and deliver the Yelvertoft family
day working with Yelvertoft Chapel. Delivering an assembly in the local
village primary school.
In November 2023, members of the team updated their Safeguarding
Training.
In November 2023 we began the process of talking with Aylesbury
Youth for Christ to look at how we could adapt elements of their
academic programme for Rugby. Specifically for the academic
programme in the grammar streams in the high schools of Rugby.
We began planning for Mental Health week in Harris by meeting with
their headteacher and making plans for February 2024.
During November 2023, we consulted on the appointment of the
School Link Worker with St Oswald's Church.
In January 2024, the team attended our annual staff conference. This
year it was held in Birmingham. During the conference each of the team
received schools work and mentoring training. As well as opportunities
for further personal/professional growth and development.
February 2024 marked mental health awareness week amongst young
people. Jon Sewell, the national evangelist from British Youth for Christ,
helped deliver a bespoke week created for Harris C of E Academy
looking at Resilience and it5 connection to spirituality. We met with

every class in every year group for a lesson, as well as being available at
lunch times to connect with students. To end that week, we also

students from Harris and members of local youth groups attending.
Our Easter programme was delivered to over 4000 students over
several schools.

communication and plan for the next academic year.
Harris CU continued to invite Rugby Youth for Christ to host a half
termly CU in their lunch time slot.
Junlor Schools
Junior school's lessons and assemblies recommenced in September
2023.
Wild Worship returned after its hiatus following the pandemic and
pandemic recovery period. This helps local schools deliver collective
worship in a creative and dynamic way in junior and primary
schools.
We are continuing to work with Change teams for SIAMS
development within the schools.
We were part of the team who planned and delivered the Bilton
Junior School prayer week. This week included daily prayer slots for
the students to participate in an interactive prayer space alongside
learning the significance of prayer.
We reestablished teaching lessons and delivering assemblies in
Cawston Grange Primary School.
Events
Our annual staff conference was held in Bimiingham and was attended
by the team. Training was provided for school's work and mentoring as
well as seminars and training around personal /profe55ional growth and
development. Each of the team who attended we extremely
encouraged and found the time away very refreshing. As a centre the
week was very beneficial.
In July 2023 we hosted Rugby Youth Camp, a town-wide youth camp
that was attended by around 80 young people from churches across
Rugby. Eight different churches attended, and we had over 20 young
people make a commitment to follow Jesus.
We hosted youth leaders, breakfasts throughout the academic year to
help support and grow our working relationships with local youth
leaders and support the local church.
