EXECUTIVE REPORT
It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed by since I wrote last year’s AGM report and what a year it has been. I never cease to be amazed at the faithfulness of God and how he continually blesses and answers prayers for N&D Youth for Christ, but then we know God is always eager to bless those willing to serve him. Like God told the Israelites in Deuteronomy, ‘the Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens to all the work you do’ and for N&DYFC there have been so many times this year when the Lord has poured out his riches in abundance over the many activities; another successful Alive weekend and follow up group, PULSE, the schools work, lunchtime clubs and so much more. I often wonder how Jerry, Janice and the team of volunteers manage to achieve so much! We are indeed blessed to have such a dedicated team, including volunteers and supporters committed to sharing the love of Christ to the many young people in our area. So, on behalf of the Executive committee thank you to all our supporters, the many volunteers, prayer warriors, financial supporters; your generosity has truly blessed the work of YFC over the last year. You are all part of God’s rich treasury.
In December we were sorry to say goodbye to Alison Earl although I’m pleased to say she hasn’t gone completely as she continues to volunteer, thank you Alison Then in the new year the Executive Committee were delighted to appoint Natasha Billet to the team as the new senior youth and school’s worker. We welcome Natasha and her family and look forward to her starting work in September.
After many years of dedication and commitment to the Executive Committee, Carol Fernandez prayerfully decided it was time to step down. We thank her for all she has done for N&DYFC over the years, and our prayers go with her as she journeys with the Lord.
And then we recently welcomed Julia Meeks to the Exec from All Saints in Newmarket, thank you Julia.
I cannot write this report without saying on behalf of all Youth for Christ supporters, for you Jerry and all your family who continue to journey through grief, our continued prayers and support are with you all. May the Lord watch over you all and hold you in his embracing arms of comfort and peace.
As so we now look forward to a new season for N&D Youth for Christ, my hope and prayer which I know is shared by everyone is that we continue to look to the Lord with expectant hope and trust that he will continue to pour out his riches in abundance and be excited for what the future holds for us.
Blessings to you all Jane Culpin
DIRECTOR’S Report
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-14
This year has really been a journey of ‘Highs and Lows’ like no other year, both here at N&D Youth for Christ and in my family life! The verse at the top of this page is still my favourite verse and one that I cling onto when the going gets tough as it speaks of the love, faithfulness and hope that we have in our ‘Abba Fathers’ relationship with us, as He walks through life and at times carries us when it’s really hard and dances with us in the joyous times. We have said goodbye to Alison as God called her in Jan to work more days for the Lightwave project in Red Lodge, and is still partnering with us at the MCA lunch groups.
I am sooo grateful to God who always has a plan when people move on, and in Feb/Mar the Exec & Ref group felt led by the Lord to appoint our new worker Natasha Billitt who will start working for us in Sept. Natasha brings great experience and gifting as she has a degree in performing arts, has worked with young people in various settings, both secular and Christian and spent a number of years as Liverpool Youth for Christ's Centre Director. Janice and I particularly look forward to what God has planned for us as a new team from September onwards, we have lots planned with PULSE at LECA in November and new opportunities in all our schools, especially the door that God has definitely opened in Littleport. Pray for us as we partner with the local Christians and Churches in our area to see God move in the hearts and lives of the young people. We are ‘Taking good news relevantly to every young person in our area’, and ‘Seeing lives changed by Jesus’
But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say what ever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1
The verse above the Lord gave to me when He first called me into leaving secular employment and was the verse He spoke again to me, when at 40 years old I wondered if I was to old to continue in youth work, saying I’ll tell you when to leave! Here we are 24 years beyond that moment and having prayed about it with others I feel the Lord is moving me on from N&D Youth for Christ. Not immediately, but I believe within the next 6 months to a year. I am not sure what he has planned, but Sara and I trust that in the coming days He will reveal His plan as He always does at the right time.
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:19
I feel like when I used run at school in a relay team, you ran as fast as you can, and then passed the batten onto another for them to run their leg of the race. I have always said that this is the Lord’s work and although I have been totally invested in N&D for around 33-ish years, it was never mine it has always been His! I thank Him from the bottom of my heart for letting me be part of His plan. If truth be told, without His equipping, empowering, sustaining love and help, I would never have been able to do this job. Praise You Lord for all You’ve done! I would like to thank Sara my wife, all the N&D staff, Exec, Ref and volunteers both past and present for all their help, dedication, support and putting up with my foibles!!! I also a thank you to all those who Pray and those who give financially, without your support things would be very challenging!!!
Finally a big “Praise the Lord” as without Him none of this would be possible!

TREASURER’S REPORT
2022 has been my twelfth accounting year as N&D Youth for Christ treasurer. Selina Jelleyman supports me with CAF bank, and Richard Holloway has very kindly audited our accounts for the Charities Commission for the seventh time. Regular giving continues to be our main source of income and for this we are very grateful to our faithful supporters, individuals and churches, who continue to face difficult times with increased household bills and costs. There has been a gentle decrease in all these areas of income, you can see the income and expenditure totals for recent years as a comparison on the accounts page. We are reacting to changing times with our staffing needs and are always mindful of ways to reduce costs. One area of blessing however was the provision of £2000 in the form of a grant from the Archbishops Council. We continue to keep all matters of expenditure under careful review and consider very carefully how we use supporter’s funds and are always happy to discuss any matters that may concern you, throughout the year. Many thanks again, Nick Crawford
