APEDALE HERITAGE CENTRE Report and Accounts For the Year to 31st December 2023 Trustees Report The Trustees present their Report for the Year to 31st December 2023 Principal Activities The Heritage Centre's principal activity during the year continued to be the operation of a mining and heritage centre for charitable ptjrposes. Political and Charitable Donations During the year, the Heritage Centre made no political donations. Trustees Responsibilities Company law requires the Trustees to prepare Accounts for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the profft or loss for that period. In preparing those Accounts. the Truslees are required to: Select suitsble Accounting Policies and then apply them consistently. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent, and Prepare the Accounts on the going concem basis. unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and to enable them to ensure that the Accounts comply wrth the Companies Act 2006 and SORP: Accounting and Reporting by Charities. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. Auditor A resolution to re-appoint R Wade FCA as Auditor will be put to the members at the Annual General Meeting. Small Company Special Provisions The Report of the Trustees has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Part 15 cf the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies and SORP:Accounting and Reporting by Charities. Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Auditor As described on Page 1, the Heritage Centre's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts. It is rny responsibility to form an independent opinion, based on rny audit. on Ihose Accounts arKJ to report my opinion to you. Basis of Opinion conducted the audit in accordance with Auditing Standards issued by the Auditing Practices Board. An audit includes examination, on a test basis. of evidence relevant to the amounts and disclosures in the Accounts. It also includes an assessment of the significant estimates and judgements made by the Directors in the preparation of the Accounts and of whether the Accounting Policies are appropriate to the Heritage Centre's circumstances, consistently applied and adequately disclosed. I planned and perfomied my audit so as to obtain all the information and explanations which I considered necessary in order to provide rne with sufficient evidence to give reasonable assurance that the Accounts are free from material mis-statement, whether caused by fraud or other irregularity or error. In forming my opinion l also evaluated the overall adequacy of the presentation of information in the Accounts.
