The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year to 31 July 2024

The charity is governed by a trust deed and is register¢d with the Charlty Comrnission
under number 1072715.
The trustees, who meet at regular intsrvals, administer the clwity and manage the day to
day operations.

Objeetlv¢s and Activltles
The principal activity and objective of the charity is to advance the J¢wish faith and
obscrvance. This is achieved by providing a synagogue, religious study and education
facilities available to the Edgware Jewish commuDity and the wider community, as well as
support for families and anyone facing difficulties.
Achlevements and Perforniance
During this financial period under review, the charity continued to maintsin the synagogue
facilities and prayer Se￿iCe8 available to the comlnunity.
During the p￿10d. the charity raised funds by way of donations and the charity will
continue to raxse further funds to meet the ongoing rutu)ing costs of the synagogue and its
programs. Arrang¢m¢nts are An place to support the needy and unemployed in various
ways. For example, ¢ooked meals are provided for the sick and for families where the
mother ha5 given birth. The charity continues to rely entirely on the voluntary work
undertaken by members of the Jewish community. All fund￿sIng and administration is
done without payment of any kind.
Flnanclal Revlew
During the period, the total income credited to the SOFA was £129,125 (£120,799 - 2023)
which included gift ald tsx repayments of £7,01 l. An amount of £89,190 (£83,229 - 2023)
was expended towards the day to day nwning costs of the synagogue and £30.560 (£29,749
- 2023) was paid th)nation5 and supp)rt for the needy. The amount held ID Teserve of
£12,058 is expected to be sufficient to meet forthcoming expendittre.

The ttustees are responsible for preparing the trustees, report and the financial
statements in accordance with applicable law accounting standards.
The law applicable to clwities requires the trustees to Prepare accounts for each
financial year which give a and f&ir view of the state of affairs of the charity and of
the incoming resources and application of resources for that period.
In pr¢paring these accounts, the trustees arc required to.
- select suitsble accounting policies and apply them consistently.
- make judgements and eStin￿te5 that are .reasonable and prudenL '
- follow applicable acLQUllting standards and the Charities SORP, disclosing and
explaining auy departures in the accounts and
- prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume
that the charity will continue in business.
The tn￿tee8 are responsible for keeping adequate accoullting records that are sufficient
to show and explain the charity's transactions and disclose the reasonable accurakny at
any time the fmancial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the applicabl¢ Charities (Accounts and
reports) Regulations, and the provisions of the Trust Deed. Thcy also responsible for
safcguarding the asscts of the charity and hence for tsking reasonable steps for thc
prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

I. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
(a) Basis of aecountlng
The financial statements have been prepazed under the historical cost convention and in
accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP). 'Accountin8 and
Reporting by Charities. effective from January 2015.
(b ) Incoming Rejourc
Donations and tax refunds are cr¢ditcd to the Statement of Financial Activities (SOFA)
when the donations are received and other income is credited is when the charity is legally
entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.
(c) Tangible Fixed Asset
Depreciation has been provided on Fixtures and Equipment to write off the assets.
(d ) Tydxation
The charity is a Registered Charity (No. 1072715) and is exempt from tsxatAon in50far as
its incomc is applied for charitable purposes.

I report on thc accounts of the trust for th¢ year ended 31 July 2024, which are set out on
pages 3-5.
Respeetive responsibilities of trngtses and examiner
The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trnstees
consider that an audit is not requircd under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the
1993 Art) and that an illdependent eXamI￿tion is needed.
It is my rcsponsibility to:
-examine the accounts undcr section 43 of the 1993 Act.
-to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act; and
-to stat¢ whether particular matters have come to my attention.

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the
Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparlson of the accounts presented with thos¢ records. It also
inGlude8 consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seekin8
explatwtions from you as trustc¢s concerning any such matters. The procedures undertak¢n
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit attd consequently no
opinion is given as to Wheth￿ the accounts present a 'true and fuir view, and the report is
limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
