ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCE
The 2023 Gŵyl Beaumaris Festival was the 38[th] festival and took place from May 24th31st. Gilly Thomas was the subject of the Art Exhibition. The festival opened with Jazz guitarist, Remi Harries, at the Bulkeley Hotel. The programme featured four Young Artist Recitals including one by young local musicians from Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias and German recorder virtuoso Tabea Debus. The Beaumaris Band appeared after an absence of many years and Operatic Bling gave audiences an overview of the development of opera over four centuries.
New to the festival was a vocal recital during which an artist created a painting during the performance. Composers present for premieres of their music included Nathan James Deardon and K.J.Nakao.
