Report From the Trustees Chair
Since the total stoppage of the Covid period, use of the Community Minibus by local organisations has increased steadily. There have been one off uses in the year, such as taking the volunteers from a local charity shop to a day in a garden centre, or the same for residents of an old people’s home, or taking a Craft Group to an NEC exhibition, to some frequent uses by scouts and guides, to regular uses of transport to matches by teenage footballers and basket ball teams. A special frequent user this year has been the Team Work Trust which serves “adults with learning and physical disabilities, offering them a taste of the real world, vocational experience and much more, bringing their skills into the wider community”.
We have had two more MIDAS trained drivers offer their services as unpaid volunteers, but on the whole organisations have been able to provide their own qualified drivers. A successful year fulfilling our aims!
