Friends of Silverstone School
Reserves policy
This policy sets out the principles for Friends of Silverstone School (FOSSI reserves policy. It will be
reviewed and published annually, prior to the AGM, by the FOSS Trustees and Head to ensure that it
remains frt for purpose.
Introduction
Friends of Silverstone School (FOSS) PTA seeks to support Silverstone CE Primary by woviding financial
and other assistance to those projects agreed by the Trustees and Committee as go¢xI causes, whilst
maintaining at all times a posrtive level of resour￿. Thus. the amount of ￿SerVeS remaining at the end of
any given financial year wll be reviewed and detem)ined SO￿lY by the Trustees in consultation with the
Head.
Ongoing FOSS funding promlses and expenditure
Each year approximately £2,O¢KJ is reserved for FOSS expenditure on items including (but not exclusive tol
Pta.co.uk membership. website and email hosts"ng. Yr 6 Seavers hoodies and competition prizes
Additionally, £10,000 is reserved for ongoing funding promises towards sthool trips and activities, s¢hool
participation in clubs and Yr 6 specific purchases tiade ties and SATS books).
End of Financial Year 2021- 2022{1" September 2021- 31st August 2022)
The reserves as at 31st August 2021 V￿re £30,064.86 (at 31st August 2022 were £27,524.84) as shown in
the accounts.
Approximately £16,300 of the current FOSS PTA funds is expected to be used for ongoing funding
promises and FOSS expenditurè for the year of 202212023", this still leaves signfficant available reseNes to
support Silverstone CE School IEfore current year fundraising.
